Reeds 1st letter
Tue, 25 Jul 2006 18:27:05 +0000
Oi! Tudo Bem? Well I hope everything is great there at home. It
looks like I´m going to be able to email once a week and Tuesday is my
P-day so you should expect a letter every Tuesday. As far as my email
address mom, only give it out to the family but i was thinking you could
post my letters on the family website and tell people that they could go
there and look at them. No one else besides family members is supposed
to have my email address. I don´t know if you got the email that MR.
Cheney´s sent on Thursday but I got here all in one piece with no mishaps
or problems. The plane ride was great. There were six of us that met at
the Atlanta Airport. There was one elder that was going to the same
mission as me and it turns out he was my companion. His name is Elder
Demke from Fortworth Texas. He´s about 6´4", 240 lbs but a way awesome guy.
We get along great and haven´t had any problems yet. We sleep with 4
other Elders that have been here about five weeks.
Its otimo (awesome) here at the CTM. Today we got to go to the
Campinas Temple. It was an awesome experience to be able to go to the temple
with so many worthy priesthood holders. They also let us walk around
the city (within certain boundries) on P-day so we have been walking
around here for a couple of hours. The food is actually pretty good here.
Rice and beans aren´t as bad as I thought it would be. I might even say
that at times the food here competes with that at the Morris Center.
The main meal here is lunch so I look forward to that every day. As far
as Portuguesan is coming, I haven´t made too much progress although I
can now pray in Portuguese and testify in Portuguese, but that is just
memorizing lines. Knowing um pouco spanish is definately helping. We are
starting to prepare a lesson plan for the First lesson and we have our
first milestone Saturday where we each have to pray in portuguese, give
the first short lesson, and testify in Portuguese. It´s great being
here. There are Brazilians that live in the dorms with us (not in my room)
that i attempt to talk to every day. They are way nice and are always
willing to help me whenever they can.
How are things back home? Are Bret and Becki getting excited about
the whole getting married thing? Oh ya and mom, the address you have is
ok to send packages to. I sent a letter but you probably won´t get it
for a while. I love you all. Remember to say your prayers and read your
scriptures.
Eu sei que Jesus Cristo vive e Ele é nós Salvador.
Love Elder Crosby.

Happy Day/Sad Day

Here's Reed with the only family that was there. We sure wish everyone could've been there. Then Reed at the airport. Bret's looking pretty sad. It was very sad to see Reed go, but I would be sadder if he wasn't going. We can only send our kids off for two years because we know of the truthfulness of His gospel and the importance of sharing this message with the world.
Here's Reeds addresses
