Birthday Boys!!

Although born 1 day apart, Bret & Chad have often shared their birthday parties! One nice thing about having a Christmas birthday is that alot of us are home for the Holidays! Bret wanted all 27 candles on his side and we just made a 'C' on Chad's side!! We really didn't want the ice cream to melt from all the heat! They wanted 'oreo dessert' instead of cake!
You can tell who the real 'blow hard' is!!

Here's a picture of everyone who was home--Reed, Tami & Ryne (her boyfriend),
Kari & Kirk, Lisa and Barry (her boyfriend), Becki and the birthday boys!!

Christmas scallops

notice the ginger bread house and tiny charlie brown Christmas tree. heehee. The boys wouldn't let me spell noel behind the TV on the wall cuz they said it would be too distracting from football... right!

One of the first things I was excited to do once I finished my finals was to finally decorate for Christmas. So Barry humored me and let me make his whole house girly!! hee hee. While helping me, I was explaining to Barry how I wanted to hang the lights and - I told him I wanted him to make scallops along the wall- you know scallops.... His responce was this "Scallops? -pause, with a completely dumbfounded look- Like potatoes?" Bless his precious heart!! I got the giggles and couldn't stop laughing! The scallops turned out fabulous even without salt, pepper and gravy. WINK! Merry Christmas!

UPDATE!

Well I thought I would just update everyone on an important recent happening in my life. For the past month I have been dating a girl named Natali Wyson. She is amazing. As most of you know, this weekend I am going to go meet her family in St. George and I am a little nervous. So I thought I would just put up a little post about us so everyone doesn't have to wonder anymore who this mystery girl is. So about a month and a half ago we went on our first date. We ate at Bajio Grille and then...We went to the BYU vs UVU hockey game and saw some big hits! It was a little chilly but I learned that the more you shiver the more calories you burn. haha. and then...

We made cups at "Color me Mine." I made her cup and I have to say it is awesome as you can see. Red, Blue, Black, and Bright Green on the inside! Genious! She made mine all patriotic and stuff, like Red, White and Purple (It is blue but some of the spots look purple) ;)

Then we went and played some Wii at her house and she beat me at just about every nintendo game imaginable. :) haha

So anyway, I hope you all will be able to meet her. She is a great girl. Smart, funny, comes from a good, big family. She is coming down to Eagar around the 30th to see the amazing New Year's Eve fireworks show in Eagar.

Yes I know what you are all thinking... "How is a girl that beautiful hanging out with Reed?" Well I don't know either, that is something you will have to ask her.

Marriage Speculation

I remember when I was single and home for Christmas one year. Let's see, I was just about to turn 23 (my birthday is December 3oth) so it was Christmas of 2004. Mom sat me down face to face, looked me square in the eye and said "Bret, 23 is great age to get married." Wow said I. Unfortunately for Mom but fortunately for me I got married when I was 24 to the most amazing girl ever. Most definitely worth the wait.

So why do I tell this story? Mom's recent post about Kari's wedding got me thinking about who might be next in the fam. Lisa's been dating Barry for like 6 months. Tami seems to be getting more serious with Ryne and I hear Reed is bringing home a little lady for Christmas. Since I am the married older brother I get to speculate, pressure, tease, and yes even post a poll on a blog to vote about who we think will get married next. I'd like to see what "the public" thinks about the situation. Cast your votes and leave any comments if you'd like to justify your prediction. I don't have Admin rights to the CrosbyCrew blog. So go to Becki and I's blog to vote there. Here's the link: bretandbecki.blogspot.com.

Kari's Wedding Day in Los Angeles!

Kari is now Kari Kinsey, she was married Nov. 14th in the Los Angeles Temple to Kirk Kinsey! I can't believe its taken me so long to post the exciting news. I didn't have very many pictures on my camera because of course my battery died! We all traveled to Los Angeles on Thurs. with some of the kids arriving quite late! We had some excitement at the Temple with all the Prop 8 protesters and an anthrax threat, but the wedding went on as scheduled! It was a beautiful wedding and Kirks parents put on a beautiful reception later that night in Glendora. The happy and newly married couple!

The beautiful bride and the lovely flowers that Marci Johnson did for Kari!

Kari with Tami as one of her bridesmaids and Lisa
as the Maid of Honor! Beautiful 'sisters'!

Kari's Luncheon in Eagar

So, the Sat. of Thanksgiving Weekend was the day we planned for Kari and Kirk's luncheon/ reception party. Starting at noon was a slight challenge, but with lots of help from all the kids, "we gotter done!" Lisa and Becki did the decorations for the food table and the rounds where people sat and ate. I had Tami and Aunt J'net helping me in the kitchen, and it all turned out pretty good. LaVerl and the boys hauled in the tables and chairs and did lots of last minute running! Noon was kind of a strange time, but we didn't what to interfere with my best friends son's reception later that night. We were lucky the weather turned nice on Sat. We served green chili chicken soup, really good green salad,
homemade rolls, brownie bites with cream cheese with a
homegrown raspberry on top, gingersnaps and little
pumpkin cakes with mini chocolate chips.

LaVerl and I with the newlyweds!

Such a cute couple, Kirk had to sing the song he wrote for
Kari serveral times for each new crowd, he was a good sport!
He plays the guitar and sings really well, finally some real
talent in the family! (Sorry kids)

The beautiful couple!

spare change...

I never told this story about my cute boyfriend, so I will tell in now.

So Barry, unlike a lot of people, uses cash all the time. He pays for everything in cash. Don't ask me why, but he always has change everywhere: change filled to the brim in his truck holder, change on his dresser, change on the floor in laundry room, change pretty much anywhere and everywhere you can think of including a turned over plastic recordable CD cover thing. I started noticing this and got to thinking "that's gotta be a lot of money". So I took it upon myself to ask him if I could roll his change and he laughed me and said go for it
BACKGROUND: I am so poor! I have been living on (crappy) student loans and parents for the past two years. Its pretty pathetic to say the least.

We guessed how much was there and I guess $70... What do you think? that's a good pile of spare change

Here the visual:

On our way to the bank with a bag of money
So we spent the afternoon having penny counting races and rolling quarters. yep, he sat there with me counting CHANGE. So the cute part is Barry let me have all the proceeds to buy shoes for Kari's wedding. AHHH CUTE!! He is the best!

SO WE CASHED IN $150$ bucks from spare change!!
