Lions and tigers and bears... OH MY

I was able to hitch a ride with M&D to visit Mark and Holly in beautiful San Diego CA. We went to the ZOO one day and it was sure fun with little Milea and Kaemon!

I caught a cute smile from Milea. I loved the hippos.

My decorating ITCH

I like to pretend that I know how to decorate and I practice on my Mom and Dads house and rooms. I started I think as a teenager (I swear I changed my room 3 or 4 times) but, basically- 3 years ago when my parents remodeled a place we have at Roosevelt Lake then in my little sister Tami's Bedroom. For her Birthday I did a "while you were out" and surprised her with a totally redecorated bed room when she got home from a trip. I'm not claiming to be good by any means, but I really like to do it. After that I did a bathroom at my parents then I invaded my BF Barry's kitchen and living room NOW, just recently (Jan. 13,14,15th) I took on a 2nd bedroom on the 2nd floor of my parents house. This time my idea was rather involved and FROM SCRATCH. I'm not quite finished with this project I still am working on the end tables and a few other loose ends I need to tweek. I started with an idea of a bed frame and head board, wall color and wall design. I had amazing help from my Uncle Brian who helped me MAKE a BED!! Yes I made a bed from yes, wood with saws and screws and POWER TOOLS. My uncle is pretty amazing with wood and taught me a lot of cool stuff. I had a vision and with a lot of help from my moms sewing skill and Dad Mr. Fix-it/jack-of-all trade skills, together we painted walls, upholstered a queen bed and head board, attached light fixtures, reupholstered and painted a chair, made and hung a valance and curtains and removed a huge vent that was in the middle of the wall. Its hard to explain in words so I will let the pictures talk. I am sad I don't have before pics cuz the change would be way more dramatic if you knew what it looked like before! What do you think?? Those of you who had seen the room know... seafoam green with glitter walls

So mom and dad and Lisa came to visit us today in San Diego (by the way it was 80 degrees here today). We gave mom her birthday/Christmas present. She loves it!

Yipppy!

Hello Family! Well I thought I, too, would give a quick update of my life here in beautiful Cedar City.
School is going quite well. I love all my classes, and I am once again so happy I changed my major to psychology- It is SO COOL! I am taking 21 credits, so  have quite the work load, but I enjoy staying busy and figuring out how to balance to my time.
The best news is that Ryne.. my boyfriend :), moved here to Cedar City somewhat unexpectedly. It just worked out so perfectly and its so wonderful to have him here close.  I can hardly believe it is already the middle of January! Time sure does fly. I miss everyone and love you!

MAKEOVER!

Since I never post, I promised Lisa that for my new year's resolution I would post more often. Here ya go sis! When Kirk and I got our new apartment mom and dad gave us all Chad's old furniture. To say the least, when I moved in the place was pretty bachelorish. One of the first things I was dying  to do was put a women's touch on the decorating (no offense babe!). Recently Kirk and I painted the furniture and mirror all black, painted the lamps red, I sewed some curtains, and we bought a real palm tree at Lowes. Here are some pics of how it turned out! (Before and after) Thanks to mom and dad (and Chad) we have a really homey little place.

This weekend we all went to Joshua Tree National Park and to see the sights and go rock climbing. We went with our friends Matt and Lezlie Gaffigan. This was my first official successful outdoor climb and it was quite the rush. What a great sport! The park was beautiful with lots of big Joshua trees all over and we even found some snow and made some snowmen.

Christmas, take 2

Thanks Mom and Dad for always spoiling all us kids and Barry thanks you for catering to him specifically all weekend. WINK. Thanks Barry for the hot chocolate machines. They were a HIT! I had so much FUN over Christmas. It was great to have Kari and Kirk and Reed home for Christmas. It has been awhile!!

So the boys and I decided we wanted to enjoy the snow fall, 1st I made a snow angle (in my Dads amazing snow suit) which I haven't done for years, then we went up saffle canyon rd and certainly "encountered" the snow...

I may have not looked too cute, but boy was I toasty warm!
