WHOA!! 35 years- Really?

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!
Yep, its true, on Jan. 21st, we've been married for 35 years!
Boy, does time fly!  Dad said, "35 years down, eternity to go!"
We had some plans to go ride the train from Williams to the Grand Canyon, but it was a long drive, it cost a lot of money and its still really cold out. When we do it, we want to be able to really enjoy the trip. So we just went to Show Low, had lunch and saw a movie, "War Horse".  Instead of spending money for just entertainment, like the train ride, I decided I wanted to fix up my sad little planter in the entryway.  While at Lowe's we found some house plants on sale. We bought a beautiful big palm plant and only paid $3.74 and a Hawaiian Schefflara for $7.49! The reason I'm excited about that is because they usually die in about six months. However....

.....Dad put in good, new soil, the kind he uses down in his grow boxes in his greenhouse!

Out with the old and in with the new!

He mixed all kinds of good stuff in it --compost made of leaves, pine needles, chicken poop, horse manure, peat moss, vermiculite, fine gravel, ashes from our wood burner, and
lots of other things!

The Hawaiian Schefflera, its huge and full and gorgeous!

My 28 year old fig is still hanging in there, which
is pretty amazing!

It was hard to get a good picture of the not quite finished
product. I want to add a few more plants to fill
in the empty spots. I love my anniversary gift,
THANKS HONEY!
