Fishing on the Bayou

Kaemon and I went fishing on Saturday. We rented a boat from the MWR and caught lots of fish (Sheephead, Redfish, Drum). Here's Kaemon reeling in a sting ray.
Here are 2 Redfish, still on their lines. The other pole was jerking before I could get the first one off the hook.

Nice-sized Sheephead and Black Drum

Sitting there minding our own business and along comes a great white shark lost dolphin

There was a competition goin on that day...biggest fish wins a nice odium aluminum, stainless steel bearing reel. The Redfish in my right hand was 26".
The next closest was 24"...so I won a $75 fishing reel!

Me with my son, new reel and some of our fish of the day (we threw a lot back)

Big brother -baby brother!

The Kinsey Family! Kari doesn't even look like she just had a BABY!

Taking baby Elijah home. You can see how
how tiny he looks in this big carseat!

He's even CUTER today!  2 days old!

Rivers decided to hold him!

He opened his eyes and they are BLUE!

He looks so little in everything

I had to get a picture of this, Kari was a thumb sucker!

See all his LONG dark hair??
Rivers and I decided we NEEDED to make
chocolate chips cookies!
He likes them about as much as I do!

Playing outside is so fun!

I am so loving being here with my two little grandsons!
They are both adorable and I'm having fun seeing them
everyday and watching the things they do.

Hawaii...the waiting is OVER! part 6

HE'S HERE!!!
So baby boy decided to arrive on the same day that LaVerl, (Gpa)
had to fly back home to Arizona. That was WED. Nov. 7th. His flight was at 3:05pm and he was born at 1:43pm, however he was at the airport already, so he missed it. I get to stay another week to help out a  little.
Happy Gma with Rivers and new baby, Elijah Luke Kinsey!

There's just not quite anything like a brand new baby! They are
so perfect, so soft, so sweet, so amazing!

And this is my first grand baby that actually has A LOT of hair!
Its dark, and it's about 3/4 inch long in the back!

He is SOOO CUTE!!

Dad & Eli

Rivers had on this cute shirt- "I'm the BIG brother"!

Mommy and baby! They are both doing great! He weighed in at
7 lbs. 12 oz. and was 19 1/4 inches long! We are so happy
he's finally here!

Hawaii..part 5 (trying to get caught up!)

Monday was another beautiful day in Hawaii.
A typical morning breakfast at the Kinsey home. Afterwards we headed out for beautiful hike to a lighthouse.   Come out baby!!

Rivers decided on this hike that he did not want to walk.

You would think that packing Rivers would hurry this baby here, but it didn't! Kari is one tough mama!

Gpa  carried him most of the way!

The view from up on top, so pretty!

After the hike we went down to this beach and
played in the tide pools and watched the surfers!

Come on in, the water is great!

I guess we wanted a little taste of home for lunch! It was yummy!

More Hawaii..... part 4

Kirk and Kari want to keep us entertained, which isn't hard to
do in Hawaii! Everyday is an adventure!

A fun thing to do on Saturdays is go to this huge swap meet!
They have everything you could ever want to buy in Hawaii!

It got a little warm walking around, Rivers was a pretty good sport! Again the 'walking around' part was for Kari! 'Hurry up
and come, baby!"

There were all these booths full of stuff to buy with lots of people
milling around in them, looking. Then there was this lone little
truck, this one little old man, selling fresh coconut milk. I walked right on by, but my sweet husband went over and talked with him and bought a coconut from him. He said he climbs the trees himself and picks the coconuts!

The booths went all the way around the stadium and we only made it about a fourth of the way around by the time we had everything we came for!

On Sunday we didn't go out except to attend their Ward. Their church building is very interesting. Its all open to the outdoors in the middle with all the classroom doors facing the big open space.
Later, Rivers' daddy decided it was time to cut off all his curls! I have to admit, he looks awesome with his short hair!

He was such a good boy and sat really still during the haircut!

This little boy is just --CUTE!

A walk on the beach is a must on a Sunday evening.

A prickly pear cactus? We felt right at home!

The waves have been pretty big and the water has been 'off
limits' a lot while we've been here.

All I can say is, "WOW!"

Walking back home after another great day in Hawaii!
