I am so glad that its Leap Year and I got one more day to post this still in February!!
...we didn't do much in Feb, then crammed a lot in the last week! We helped Bret and Lisa with some projects, then flew up to Provo to see Tami & Ryne and boys and of course a couple of basketball games. We did a bunch of things, here's the pictures to tell the story.
DAY 1----We left on Monday Feb. 22, but had to clean Lisa & Barry's vacation rental before we came because they had rented it the next weekend. When we got into Mesa around 4:30pm we went to my brother Curt's house and we picked 3 boxes of beautiful grapefruit. Curt was working, but Carol was so sweet to share!! We stopped and saw Mom & Dad, and of course Mom fed us and we had a great visit with them. We stayed with Lisa so we could get an early start with their projects!
DAY 2--- Tuesday Feb. 23---Dad helping Bret
Bret needed part of a wall knocked out and then sheet rocked!
It was quite the project, but I think guys like demolishing things!
It was way messy too, dust all over the house! and them!
---Me helping Lisa! This is Lilly's room 'before'.
We painted two walls white and 2 walls navy blue.
Because the paint had to dry 24 hours and we were leaving the next morning, we didn't get the last wall taped off to do the herringbone design on it. So I don't have a final picture to show! We worked hard!
DAY 3-- Wed. Feb 24
We flew on Allegiant Air right into Provo, UT. The airport is only 5 minutes from Tami's house. Oh how we've missed them and these 2 little boys!
Tami had to work and Ryne needed to study at school, so Gma got to do the bedtime routine! Colter in his 'sleepy-time' hat!
DAY 4- Thursday Feb 25
Tami took us to the Monte Bean Life Museum up on BYU Campus. They have a wonderful exhibit that includes a lot of Boyd K. Packer's paintings and bird carvings. Who knew he was such a talented artist?

This picture doesn't do these peacocks justice, they were so beautiful!
This is a 'liger' a cross between a tiger and lion. So cool!
After the museum we picked up Aunt Nan for lunch!! She treated us to the Pizza Pie Cafe which is way yummy!
Later Thursday night, LaVerl and Ryne went to the BYU-Portland game!! Fun times, he's such a true-blue BYU Fan!! They won, too!
DAY 5-- Feb 26 Friday! A busy, full day!
We got up early and drove to Lehi, UT to see my Uncle Junior and Aunt Barbara who I haven't seen for years!! They live with their daughter Kimberly and her husband Todd and 2 kids because Aunt Barbara is recovering from surgery. What a beautiful home they have. Uncle Jr. hasn't changed, he's still a big tease and jokester!! Aunt Barbara still has the very same laugh I would recognize anywhere! It was fun to see them again!
Colter had a birthday Feb. 20th and turned 3 years old.
They waited until we came to celebrate!!
He looked so cute in his new 'paw patrol' hat and shirt.
Colter getting into the 'party favors'.
2 pretty precious little boys!
He wanted a 'BLUE' party and only 2 friends, Clara and Declan
Gma & Gpa got him a 'treasure box' with stuff inside!
Everyday before we got there he would ask if it was his birthday yet! He was so excited!
Colter Ryne Peters- such a little character! He's non-stop entertainment!
After the party, LaVerl and Ryne went to a BIG outdoor EXPO they were having in downtown Provo. They found some cool stuff!
Then we had reservations at 3:00 to go to the open house and see the new Provo City Center Temple!
WOW!! Its amazing to know this building was completely gutted by fire and they were able to save the outside walls!
You can learn all about it on lds.org
This little birthday boy was tuckered out! His mommy had told him if he was good she would carry him through the whole tour! He fell asleep during the first little film we watched! He weighs about 30 pounds and finally his daddy was able to give her a break!
Afterwards, we met Aunt Nan and went to see Uncle Denny's headstone and put new flowers on his grave.
It will be a year on March 21st, since he passed! Uncle Denny loved to eat at Chuck-a-rama, so we took her to dinner there. Its almost a sin to eat that much food, but we did!
DAY 6-- Saturday Feb. 27th
After eating so much food all week, we decided to go to the Provo Rec. Center! It is so awesome! The kids and Tami and LaVerl swam and I worked out on some machines upstairs and could watch them. Then we walked the track for about 2 miles while the kids played on all the other things they have there.
This climbing wall was fun, but they LOVED the huge playground area! It very kid friendly and parents can come
and get a good workout!

This is the restaurant that Tami works at called 'Black Sheep'. Its ran by some Navajo people and their food is so unique and so GOOD! It only has 13 tables, so they are always full!!
We walked downtown Provo where they have really restored a lot of the old buildings and made it a great place to shop. This "kissing spot" was fun!!
Such a darling couple!! So cute together!
Ryne and Dad went back to the Outdoor EXPO for a couple of hours and we went home. About 5:00pm, the boys, including Blake, went to the BYU-Gonsaga basketball game!! It was a nail-biter, and BYU had a chance to win it at the end, but they choked!
While they were at the game, Tami & I took Colter to go see Kung Fo Panda 3 for his birthday! He loved it!
DAY 7- Sunday Feb 28th
Two little boys all ready for church. Their church isn't until 12:30pm, so we relaxed all morning. Blake had to give a little talk in Primary, so he practiced that awhile. Our flight was at 1:30, so they just took us to the airport on their way to church.
It was so fun and wonderful to get to spend time with our kids. Its great to know how they are living their lives and how they are raising our grandkids! They are so good to have their family prayers morning and night, and to read scriptures together every night. Tami takes such good care of everyone and Ryne is so good to PLAY with his boys and spend time with them even with his busy class schedule.
We loved spending a week with them and also getting able to spend time with Lisa and Bret and their cute kids!! We are SO BLESSED!
Barry & Lisa picked us up and fed us lunch, then we were on our way home, arriving about 8:30pm. It was a GREAT WEEK!
