Making MEMORIES over Memorial Day Weekend

MAY 25th - MAY 29th
Bret & Becki had the opportunity to go to Dallas to watch a U2 concert and asked if I could come watch their kiddos for a couple of days. I got there on Thursday night and they flew out early Friday. We had lots of fun at Aunt Lisa's house playing in Lilly's 'shark pool'.  Little kids sure are easy to please!
Kingston didn't get in for awhile, but it wasn't long to he jumped in too. It was pretty crowded, but they all had a ball. Even Lisa hopped in!!

Saturday morning after chores, of course, we headed to the 'Cortina Pool'.  They all looked so cute -- love the mermaid suits!

They just played outside too, they LOVE their new play house!

Bret & Becki got home Saturday night and we had 8am church on Sunday morning. We headed out to Roosevelt about 2pm. We grilled hamburgers and ate S'Mores around the campfire that evening and everyone recited a few poems they knew.

Monday, Memorial Day, Bret brought a flag and he talked to the kids about what and who we're supposed to remember today!

Then we headed to the Lake!
 Grandpa's a great 'captain'!

Everytime we got into shallow water or close to the shore line, LaVerl would cast his line out.  We all thought he was just 'fishing'!

But then, to all of our surprise, he was 'catching'!!
 A happy fisherman!
It's so fun watching your kids have FUN!! We had a little excitement when Bret was driving the boat and went over some wakes pretty fast and all 3 of his kids went flying off the tube! Becki was ready to jump in after them, Bret couldn't get the boat turned around fast enough to save her babies!!
Later he caught another fish, but it was just a baby!

Even little tiny Ivory got on the tube after a lot of coaxing....and she loved it!!

We got off the lake around 2 and then enjoyed some BBQ ribs at Boston's before heading home!!

We all made some pretty great memories!

FUN TIMES WITH SONJA & RANDY!

Thursday morning, May18th, the day we were meeting Sonja & Randy in St. Johns so we could ride together down to Tucson, we woke up to a little snow! We had planned a little trip to go to the Gaslight Theatre and to just relax and have fun!

Randy decided to take his nice truck and it was a good thing because we hit Costco before coming home and we were loaded! We visited and laughed for the whole 5 hour trip!

We stopped at a place Randy knew from when he was a little boy and they would go exploring. Its called Seneca Falls and it was amazing!  The water wasn't flowing much over the falls, but it was still spectacular! As little kids, they somehow found a way down to the bottom of this canyon where there was a beautiful clear, blue pool of water they could swim in during those hot summer days!

I was really glad there was a fence, it was scary looking down!

The boys braved a look over the edge to see the pool of water below!

There was still a little water running in a few places. We drive right past this place on our way to Mesa and never knew it was there! Its pretty awesome!

When we drove into Tucson, we drove by the new temple that will be open soon!   We checked into our rooms, rested awhile, then headed to a movie of course.  We saw the new King Arthur movie, "Legend of the Sword".

Friday morning we took them up Sabino Canyon and rode a little tram to the top. Not much water in the creek here either.

Then we road to the top of Mt. Lemmon!  What a beautiful drive and we were so high we could see for miles.

We ate a nice restaurant in the little town of Mt. Lemmon.

We had to hurry on down the mountain so we could head to the Gaslight Theatre for the show- "Curse of the Pirates Gold".

We had a great time, the shows are always funny and entertaining!
Saturday we went to Costco, then headed home.  It was a quick 2 days, but we did a lot of fun stuff and we got to spend time with my sister and Randy! They are super fun to go with, we had a ball!

It was a BUSY, FUN, WEEK!

We finished the last week of April spending time with our kids and grandkids. Kirk & Kari went to the Dominican Republic on a Beachbody vacation so I got to have their 3 boys for a week. It was the same week that Tami & Ryne were coming for the big Black River trip. Lisa & Barry, Mark & Kaemon, and Reed got here on Wednesday and the boys all left early Thursday morning for their fishing trip. That left me with Kari's 3 boys, Tami with her 2 and Lisa with Lilly at home to do what ever we wanted! We rented movies, we ate ice cream, and then we had a baby shower for Tami!
The first of the week I spent in Flagstaff to watch Kari's boys. I left early Saturday and stayed there until Tuesday and came home that night.  Rivers & Elijah had a T-ball game on Monday and were able to go to a couple of days of school before I took them to Eagar.
It was pretty cute, they don't keep score, each team plays until everyone bats and they only play 3 innings. Elijah hit the ball for the first time this game!

Ryne's little brothers, TJ and Dallin went too. Barry wasn't here yet.
Oh how these cousins loved playing with each other! The wind blew hard a couple of days, so there was some movie watching for them too.
Gpa wasn't here to take them to DQ, so Gma had to.

Leo loved the crepes we had one morning!
He's pretty cute!  I think he even ended up liking his Gma a little by the end of the week!! (Probably because I gave him Nutella!)

Lilly right in there with all her boy cousins!

Tami wanted to freeze-dry some fruit while she was here. She brought apples she got for .50 cents a lb. and we did bananas we got for .29 cents a lb.  I had been doing lots of grapes that had been on sale for .88 cents a lb. and strawberries and pineapple.
These kiddos think they are eating candy!!

Saturday we woke up to this Winter wonderland! It was so beautiful!! Our poor bing cherry tree, we had little cherries on it, but I don't think they survived this!

On Saturday we also had a baby shower for Tami.  Lots of people came, everyone loves Tami!  She got lots of really cute things! I made soup, rolls and two kinds of salads. Tami made the cucumber bites. I sent out cute invitations that had a picture of Tami's little baby girl-- Adlee Belle, this is her sonogram!

The boys came home during the baby shower, and there was just enough snow left for Mark & Kaemon to build a snowman!

All the Peters family that came.

Its always great when our kids can spend some time together. We played some games later and had a good time.
HAPPY, BUSY, FUN WEEK!!
