4 DAY - TRIP TO DALLAS, TX

We spent 4 days in Texas doing lots of fun things, plus getting to spend time with Reed, Natali and Eliana and Marks family was also there. They were on their Fall Break so Mark had planned on lots of fun things to do.

Day 1- We flew into Dallas on Wednesday Oct. 13th. Reed had dinner for us and Mark's family! 3 kinds of chicken wings!  YUM! His house is all decked out for Halloween!

His singing pumpkins are the greatest!!
Eliana goes to a little pre-school. She is such a sweet, happy child.
Reed has a wall with lots of pictures from all the places they've been!

DAY 2  Thursday Oct. 14th we all went to the HUGE Texas State Fair!

The thing to do at the State Fair is to try every kind of fried food they have!  And we did!!

Double stuffed Oreos are amazing!!

We went to several shows. We saw 3 very talented guys do tricks on a scooter, a bike and a skateboard! The guy on the bike won a silver medal in a world competition.

The next show we saw was the pig races! It was hilarious!

Holly was all about the french fries! And her Coke!

Everything is BIG in Texas! Big Tex! The Ferris wheel!

More Food!

Frozen Hot chocolate!  It was a hot, muggy day!
We went to a lot of shops, a huge car show, and walked and walked!

Wembly and Eliana were inseparable! They all had lots and lots of cotton candy! Mark said it was 'yes' day!

A lot of the food we ate was on Reed's recommendations.  We all tried the Fletchers corn dogs! They didn't disappoint!
We stayed at the fair until about 5pm. Then LaVerl and I went home with Reed and Mark and his family went on to 6 Flags over Texas.  It was a super FUN day!

Day 3  We spent Friday Oct. 16 in Fort Worth, TX

We all met about noon at a wonderful restaurant that Reed likes. Natalie was already in Fort Worth for a legal meeting, so she was able to join us too.

It had beautiful outdoor dining and really yummy food!

After we ate lunch we walked to the stock yards that Fort Worth is famous for.

In this inside arena is where the first rodeo took place.

It cost Mark $5 for Wembley to sit on the longhorn bull.

We played corn hole in front of the 'exchange' while waiting for the 'cattle drive' to start.

The kids rode a mechanical bull and had fun trying to find their way out of the Maze that looked like cattle shoots.

Since Natali drove to Fort Worth earlier that morning, they had two cars there, so we had to drive Reed's car back to Dallas and that was pretty scary driving on the freeways and trying to follow the GPS, but we made it! It was another great day!

Day 4 Oct. 16th  Waco, TX
Saturday BYU was playing Baylor University at Mclane Stadium in Waco. Everyone - Mark and his 4 boys, Reed, Natali and Eliana went to the game.

Me, Holly, Milea and the 2 youngest kids- Wembley and Daxxon went to explore Magnolia Market!
Magnolia Market at the Silos, commonly called Magnolia Market, is a shopping complex that encompasses two city blocks in downtown Waco, Texas. It is marked by two 120’ high silos, built in 1950 as part of the Brazos Valley Cotton Oil Company. The Brazos Valley Cotton Oil Mill Company closed in 1958, and the silos ceased to serve as storage in the 1990s. The grounds opened to the public in October, 2015. The complex is owned by Chip and Joanna Gaines, TV personalities best known for HGTV's Fixer Upper TV series. The Gaineses completely transformed the Waco landmark, which helped to change the city as well as many surrounding areas.

We had some awesome cupcakes from the Bakery at Magnolia.

Afterwards we all met up at MODS Pizza.

Well, that was our trip! We loved spending time with our kids and grandkids and seeing some of the sites of Texas!!
