LAST DAY IN 2021

This is Dec. 31st! I need to post a few more happenings before it January in just 20 minutes! We had an exciting New Years Eve. The power went out all over town, but thanks to LaVerl's solar batteries, we had lights, TV, everything! Just no internet! Tami had balloons with activities inside that the kids popped every 30 minutes. We played games, had a bubble blowing contest, oreo cookie game, and a New Years Toast.

Dec. 29th was Chad's BIRTHDAY! We went over to Snowflake and LaVerl installed 16 new overhead can lights for them. Then we took Chad & Luann and her folks, Jim and Kathie Manor to lunch.

Then on Dec. 30th was Bret's BIG #40 Birthday!! We didn't get to see him, but I think he had a pretty great day! He got a new e-bike, a new puppy, a great dinner and a PARTY!

LaVerl says---HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

DECEMBER 2021

This month has gotten away from me, so I'm going to lump it altogether in one post!

Lisa sent this cute picture of Lilly.
I took Adlee to the library for story time and  crafts. Santa was there.
Then Tami invited me to go to Colter's school Christmas concert! He's the cute one in the blue suit 3rd from the left!

Then for an early birthday, my best friend Lenna took me and Marcella Walker (who also has a Dec. birthday) over to Show Low for pedicures and lunch at Los Corrales. We had such a fun day shopping, eating and hanging out together!!
A couple of days before Christmas Tami took her kids and Kari's  boys over to Snowflake to do a craft at Luann's class she teaches. They had a blast and made the cutest ever pop-out Christmas cards!

Kari and 4 boys came home on Monday.  Lisa and kids got here on Tues. So with Tami's kids here I had 7 little boys and 3 little girls all getting to play together! The boys loved Gpa's field where they could build fires and do 'boy' things. The weather stayed pretty nice!
Landon somehow got close enough to the fire that he singed his hair!!
Of course we had to make our traditional 'snowman' pizzas!

Later that night the kids all made 'reindeer' rice crispy treats.

The next morning was 'reindeer pancakes'.

Later we did our Christmas Candy Cane hunt. The kids love it!

For lunch Kari made a 'reindeer' picnic for all the kids. It was peanut butter sandwiches cut in half diagonally with pretzels stuck in for horns and M & M eyes and raspberry noses. Then she had reindeer food-- fruit, etc. then reindeer poop- chocolate kisses. It was all really clever and really cute. Then they ate it all watching a Christmas movie.

Somehow we managed to fit it an "eggnog" judging contest. I had no idea there were so many different kinds of eggnog! Some were definitely better than others.

So for my birthday Reed got me (and LaVerl) tickets to a David Archuletta Christmas concert in Show Low!  It was so awesome because our tickets were 3 rows back, right in the middle!! Tami and Blake (Ryne was sick and couldn't go) drove us over!  It was a fun night!

My birthday was super fun. We started off the day with Christmas tree waffles. The kids love putting M&M's for lights on the green waffles. Then the buttermilk syrup is all foamy and white like snow! Tami made my favorite "Almost Too Much Chocolate cake" that is so yummy. I watched several Christmas movies. LaVerl brought me my favorite blizzard from DQ. He remembered all by himself! The girls made a great salad for dinner! Later I got a foot rub while watching a movie. It was great having a lot of my grandkids around me for my special day!

Kari brought a few quilts to tie that she was giving to a family.

My 3 girls really went beyond nice and got me a pair of hiking shoes. On our trips to Oregon together, my regular tennis shoes don't quite do the job on the trails we hike on!! My girls are the BEST!
That about sums up December so far. Today is Christmas day. Chad and Luann are on their way over to eat dinner with us, watch the BYU game and stay and play games later. We have enjoyed the day, reading our new books we got, calling our kids and relaxing.
