GO COUGARS!!!

LaVerl met up with some of our boys to watch the BYU Cougars play  University of Kansas in the famous Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas. Mark & Zallen flew in from El Paso, TX. Reed flew in from Dallas, TX and Bret and LaVerl flew in from Phoenix. We had just arrived back on Monday from being in Idaho Falls for almost a week with Tami's family and LaVerl (& Bret) flew out the next day. Mark's flight got redirected from Denver because of weather, and they were afraid that they wouldn't make it to the game in time, but they did! BYU was NOT expected to win, KU has only lost 9 home games in that stadium since their current coach has been coaching, so this was an amazing WIN! The boys were super excited and after the game got to met lots of the players!! They had so much FUN!!

When they got there, they went to Gate's BBQ to eat!!

They had some time, so they drove by the Kansas City Temple!

Allen Fieldhouse is an indoor arena on the University of Kansas (KU) campus in Lawrence, Kansas. It is home of the Kansas Jayhawks men's and women's basketball teams. The arena is named after Phog Allen, a former player and head coach for the Jayhawks whose tenure lasted 39 years. The arena's nickname, The Phog also pays homage to Allen. Allen Fieldhouse is one of college basketball's most historically significant and prestigious buildings. The actual playing surface has been named "James Naismith Court", in honor of basketball's inventor, who established KU's basketball program and served as the Jayhawks' first coach from 1898 to 1907.

The WINNING SMILES!

Holly was watching the game at home on TV and saw Mark, Bret and Reed on the screen and took a picture!

After the game, they went and met all the players and the coach!!
And Spencer Linton, the BYU sports announcer!

Coach Pope. I didn't know he was so TALL!

After the game the guys all went to a bakery for some treats!

I think this may start a new tradition of all the boys getting together to go to one away BYU game. They sure had a great time, of course, THE WIN, had a lot to do with that!!

February is almost gone!!

        Feb. 13th-14th!

We have been busy with a few projects we wanted to get done before we leave on our service mission for 6 months!! Our little place at Roosevelt Lake has been needing some a/c units in the 2 bedrooms, so LaVerl got them both in. The one in the master bedroom was pretty easy, he just had to cut a hole in the wall.

This is the vent on the outside.
The a/c unit in the other bedroom was a lot more work! It was a window unit and we had the wrong kind of window, so LaVerl had to frame it in on one side of the window.

He had to insulate and sheetrock it.
He also had to change the electrical outlet to the right side.
I didn't get a picture after we got it all painted and with the curtain back up. It should be nice this summer when its HOT!
We also took out the double/full size bed and put in a queen size. It's a little tight getting past the dresser. We may have to take it out and just put a bench in that bedroom.
We took this bed out and put it in the bunk house. The bed we replaced was really bad, I think it was originally Lisa's bed she had growing up!

We had to be home for to watch some of Kari's kids Feb. 16-18th. I didn't take one picture of my cute grandsons!

Feb. 21st-26th!! Now we are here in Idaho Falls visiting Tami's family. However, Ryne is not here, he is in New Zealand with his brother TJ. When LaVerl was in Mexico a couple of weeks ago, I guess I was feeling kind of lonely, so I booked a couple of flights to come see Tami. It was cutting things pretty close to our trip to Hawaii, so we decided to just stay in Mesa for a few days before we fly out. We have been doing some really fun things here. We got to see Blake's basketball team play and win the championship game. Tami took us to some awesome hot springs and we've been eating some great food.

After Blakes game, we went to Big Jud's and had the biggest hamburger I've ever seen. It fed all 6 of us!

On Thursday we went to the Idaho Falls temple and then drove around the BYU-Idaho campus.

Oh boy, the sun was really bright reflecting off all the snow!

On Friday we drove to Rexburg, ID about 30 minutes
away and went to the temple there.

Saturday, Tami took us to some really cool hot springs in Maple
Grove, ID. It was a two hour drive, but worth it!!

They had two really big pools and then about 5 other pools of different degrees of temperature.  They had yurts and rock buildings to camp in and picnic tables to eat our lunch. It all bordered the big Bear River.

They even had a HOT waterfall!
It looks warm, but it was freezing cold outside and windy! That's what made getting in the hot tubs so nice!
Colter loved the waterfall, and then jumping in the cold river!

We have had a wonderful time here with the Peters family. It was fun to see where they live and see them all!
