Crosby Siblings Get together!

LaVerl's brothers & sister and spouses all got together over the weekend for some fun and work. We met at Roosevelt first and went 4-wheeling and boating.
Rick and Paula- Rick was prepared with his goggles and handkerchief!
Dave was a great sport riding with his healing broken ribs.
Bryan & J'net were so nice to let Dave & Mary ride their 4-wheeler while they stayed at the house.
And were off!
We rode up to the Revis Mountain Sanctuary where Peter Bigfoot has a place where he has a huge garden, fruit trees, herbs and lots of interesting things. He teaches classes on desert plants and natural remedies. A really neat and knowledgable man.
He has lots of turkeys wandering around!
This big 'tom' was a little scary!
They harvest the fruit, herbs, asparagus, and persimmons as cash crops at a Farmers Market in Globe to help cover costs.
He had some solar panels LaVerl was interested in looking at.
He used a solar panel to run the pump for water that irrigated his crops. Its been a really dry year there, they've only had about 4 inches of rain!

Heading back, it was a little hot, but fun!
The guys playing 'Hearts'
The girls in the kitchen. Paula & J'net brought lots of good food.
Paula making her good chili egg breakfast! Yummy!
Mary & J'net and a messy counter! Later I couldn't find my camera when we took our boat ride out on the Lake, so I didn't get any pictures, but we enjoyed that too.
Once in Eagar, they all worked on going through all their parents boxes still left in our shop. Its been a few years and it was time to take care of their parents things. We spent some time up at Milligan walking around the property that their parents loved so much. We ate lots of good food, played some cards, worked, played, visited and strengthened our family bonds. Thanks for coming family, lets plan some more good times together!

HARVEST TIME!

Its that time of the year! LaVerl has worked really hard on his garden and it has paid off! He grew beautiful, BIG green peppers....

...lots of wonderful green, mild chilies. I learned how to roast them with my 'flavor-wave oven' and it works great! He has lots of onions too and...
Tons of tomatoes! We have been eating them, canning them, dehydrating them, and giving them away. I've learned how to make 'sun-dried' tomatoes that taste really good!
He had two patches of corn and even with all the rain, we've eaten alot and we've gotten 2 wheel barrow loads so far to freeze. Chad came to help and Tami & Blake. Do you kids remember this scene? We didn't have many worms in the corn this year, Kari, you would have been happy about that!
Blake is such a good little helper!
Lots of work, but so good to have in the freezer!! Dad planted 'peaches & cream' this year and its really sweet and good!
With Tami's help, we were able to put up 34 quart bags of corn!!
While we worked in the kitchen, Gramps had to keep Blake entertained! He likes to ride on anything - in the wheel barrow.....
...on the ride lawn mower
...even the skidsteer!! I don't have a picture with him on the 4-wheeler, that's his favorite! As soon as he sees Gramps he starts pointing to the door and then outside to the 4-wheeler. Of course Grandpa can't resist him!
He pushed this little wagon clear out to the road! At one point it was going so fast his little legs could barely keep up! LaVerl wasn't to happy the other day, a big bull we have over here (his name is Houdini!) got into his green house and really made a mess of things!
