BYU Education Week Aug. 19-23

Things just aren't slowing down for us, we've been roll'en!!
I spent the 12th-14th of August watching Bret's kids. I left on Sunday and got home Thursday. On Friday morning we left early and headed to St. George, UT. on our way to Provo for BYU Education Week.   We always like to stop in Beaver, UT and the creamery there and buy some curd. They used to have this little store and now they built this big, really nice place to stop. The curd is good, but its not Tillamook!
Tami and Ryne have moved to St. George so he can attend the medical school there.

Thursday was Blake's #9 birthday!!
They had already celebrated it, we just got to enjoy some of the delicious cupcakes that were leftover!!

St. George is just beautiful!! I love the red rocks, the mountains, and all the fun things to do there. This little splash pad is in a park just a short walk from Tami's house--and no one was even there!
This tree house at the park said, "Jacob Hamblin's home". He's pretty famous where we live in Eagar, everyone is related to him!
He helped settle St. George.

Tami took us to this little lake were the kids like to swim and play.
Adlee's hair looks like a 'punk rocker!'
(the wind was blowing!)

We even got a temple session in. This temple is closing in Sept. for renovations for over 2 years! Its hard to know why, its so beautiful!

Monday morning we headed to Provo. That evening Shane's band was playing in a park in Mapleton and Sonja & Randy had invited us to go. We met them for dinner then went to hear them play!
They are really good, we loved it!

We had a great time at Education Week. We stayed with Aunt Nan, she is always so good to us! We met up with Gary (LaVerl's first cousin) and Innette Crosby and had lunch with them.

At one of our classes we learned all about this stained glass window that was made for the Rome Italy Temple visitor center. The artist was there and his wife taught the class, it was so interesting, all the details involved!
We also went to two of the evening performances. We went to the GENTRI concert, three guys that sing, so talented! Then we saw the play Beauty and the Beast and took Aunt Nan with us.
We headed back to St. George on Friday after our classes and got to Tami's about 8pm.
Saturday on the way home, we had to stop at Cameron (it's an Indian outpost place) to eat, the food was delicious!
LaVerl had a french dip sandwich on fry bread with green chilies!

We also stopped in Flagstaff to see Kari and kiddos again!
(and pick up something we forgot!)

FUN TRIP, but we were glad to get home after over a week being gone! Got home about 6:30pm. I did a few loads of laundry and repacked my suitcase and after church on Sunday I left for Queen Creek to watch Bret's kids again for a week this time!!
LIKE I SAID,  We've been roll'en!!!

Lisa comes back to Eagar to ENJOY our cool weather

Eagar's weather has been so nice and cool and rainy!
Lisa gets her little ones outside a lot to enjoy the cool.

Lucy playing in the rain.
 They sure LOVE their Gpa!!
One day we took a RZR ride up in the mountains. We had
to take a picture by 'tree in the rock'! That tree is growing!
 We picked some pretty wildflowers!

How does that little girl sleep on a bumpy road?
We had to have S'mores around our firepit.
Gpa teaching Lilly how to roast the perfect marshmellow!
 Fun on the tire swing.
Landon was obsessed with Gpa's ride lawnmower!!
He's such a 'boy'!

Anytime he was outside, this is where we'd find him!
Lisa and kiddos stayed a couple of weeks and we loved
every minute of it.

LISA'S BIRTHDAY!!! August 3rd!!!

One of Lisa's birthday wishes is to NOT be in the heat on her birthday!!  She got her wish and was in Eagar for her birthday!

Barry drove from Queen Creek to be here!
What a sweet, good husband!
Gpa brought home donuts and chocolate milk!
We had fun taking the kids down to 'Eagar Days'.
They had lots of fun things for the kids to do.
They loved these little rid-able animals!

Well, Landon would rather play with the balls!
They had a few live animals too! Some little hedgehogs, baby alligators, goats, dogs, a big tortoise and a porcupine!!
Barry came bearing gifts!
Later I watched the kids while they went to dinner at
Molly Butler Lodge in Greer!

I wanted to make Lisa a really yummy cheesecake, but I'd never made this recipe before and it kind of flopped! I didn't let it cool enough before I took the mold off! Bummer!
But it was still YUMMY!

Lisa and kiddos come to Eagar!

Its just to darn hot in Queen Creek, AZ!!
Lisa needed to come to the White Mountains to enjoy our nice
cool weather and get the kids out of the heat! We got lots of rain this week, which really cooled things off nice! The kids had their little rubber boots and umbrellas, all ready for the rain!

The rain has brought out lots of frogs. At night, after the rain, we can hear all the frogs making lots of noise! One little fellow even made his way into my house!! He was just hopping across my carpet one evening when Lisa and I were watching TV!
Lilly and Lucy thought he was pretty cute.
Lilly named him Mr. Froggy

They loved going down to the chicken coop and gathering the eggs then seeing the horses!

 Landon LOVES being outside!
They all love the rabbits too.
 And playing in the playground.

The water in the ditch was pretty cold, but Lilly
still wanted to at least put her feet in!
Riding on the 4-wheeler is always a hit!
And a trip to Dairy Queen is always fun!

Its been fun having them all here!
