Oregon Trip - Day 5

 Aug. 5  Day 5  LAST DAY

The day started out at the beach closest to our VRBO.  The girls do their workout and I take my walk. Then they all jump into the freezing cold Oregon Coast ocean!!  Fun times!

We had to check out by 11, then we headed back to the redwoods.

We stopped all along the road to take pictures, a bunch of 'looky-lou's"

They are so huge, its hard to really tell from the pictures!

The girls had to explore every fallen tree and every hole!

These 3 trees kind of growing together looked like 3 sisters!

Tami's motto, 'If there's a tree, climb it!" Well she about got stuck in this one!!

She's partway through, only her feet were sticking out! It looks like the tree swallowed her!!

She made it up, now to get back down and out! That was a challenge!

We saw beautiful sights along the road! This looked like a great place to swim!

Stout Memorial was a short little trail with so many wonderful trees to see! The little kids there loved playing in this natural playground! Including my girls!!

After exploring the redwoods, we headed into Medford, about a 2-3 hour drive. We relaxed at a park until we were ready to go eat. Our flight home wasn't until 9pm.

Again, Tami's motto-  "If you see a tree, climb it!!"

 

The girls found this really yummy Thai place to eat, with healthy choices that they like! We did splurge on dessert!!

Well, that's the end of 5 days of fun with my 3 crazy, funny, amazing daughters! We laughed, we hiked, we explored, we talked, we ate, we loved being together!

Oregon Trip Day 4

 Aug. 4th  Wednesday

Today we explored the REDWOODS!  What a marvel they are, so amazing and magnificent! We had a little trouble getting down the coast because there had been a huge slide that took out a place on the road, so the road was only open certain hours. We had to wait for a couple of hours!! Once on our way we stopped and hiked a little trail called Yurok Loop Trail. It was like being in a storybook!

Bret would love all the trees covered in moss. When he was a little boy he said, "Even when I'm old I'm going to love moss!"

When I was a little girl, we stopped to see Paul Bunyan and Babe! However, the Sky Trail and Gondola ride were added in 2001. 

We bought tickets for $20 for an amazing walk through all different kinds of redwoods, some on Ripley's "Believe it or Not" then a walk way above the ground on hanging rope bridges and finished with a gondola ride way above the trees!!

After spending a few hours at Trees of Mystery, we had to drive our car through a huge redwood tree!!

Since we couldn't get back to Crescent City until the road opened at 7pm. the only place we could find to eat that was open was a Casino and we were lucky to find that!

The hydrangeas in Oregon are the most fabulous colors of purple, pink and blue!!
