GIRLS TRIP to San Diego!

All my girls and I decided to take a little trip to San Diego just to get away and spend some time together! We spent 3 days and had a really fun time together.

GETTING THERE
Thursday March 28th Tami flies in from Provo and arrives at 2:00pm. I drove from Eagar and got to Lisa's at noon. Kari arrived from Flagstaff around 1:00.  We picked up Tami and headed to San Diego from the airport, about a 6 hour drive. I drove and we visited all the way there. We arrived in the dark, finally found our little place and settled in.
We had a great location, only a block from the beach, it was crammed in between lots of houses, which is just how all the houses are by the beach and a little 'dated' and small, but the price was right. it was quiet and we felt safe there.
 DAY 1
It was a little cloudy and cool, but we spent our 1st day at the beach. Because it was cool, the girls were laying in the sun trying to stay warm and Lisa and Tami got really sunburned! I was cold so I was covered with the towels and didn't get burned at all.

After the beach we got cleaned up and headed to the boardwalk again to find some food. It was too cold for real ice cream!

Later that evening watching the sun go down over the ocean!
It was so beautiful!

Then we ate at a place on the beach that served sushi, that was fun.

The girls had some sort of soup appetizer.
 I didn't have sushi, I had tempura, (I think)

We were sitting right where the chefs'
cook and one of the chef's made a special veggie sushi for Kari, without her even ordering it. He just heard her talking about being pregnant on not being able to eat raw fish!

These guys were amazing, each plate was a work of art!

 It was a FUN DAY!

DAY 2  Saturday March 30th
This was a busy day-  we did it ALL!!
We got up and walked the beach front...
Then we drove to La Jolla and walked along that beach
to see the seals and sea lions. It took us driving around a few times, but we finally found a parking place.
Look at these beautiful flowers that grow along the beach front.
We walked to the 'Children's Pool' to see all the seals. They are so cute just laying in the sun and playing in the water, just enjoying life!
It's pupping season and this momma just pulled herself up on the rocks, turned over and her baby latched on!
We were getting hungry so Lisa found the #1 taco place in San Diego- according to reviews online!  We waited about 35-40 min. and the line never got shorter the whole time we were there, but it was worth the wait!!  So Yummy!
Waiting in line!!

Their Carna Asada tacos are famous along with the carna asada loaded fries!! It all tasted so GOOD!

 Me and my girls!

Before we knew it, it was time to go out to dinner, again!
My hubby and their Daddy gave us money to go have a really nice, fancy meal somewhere! So we went to Balboa Park and ate at the Prado! Because we ate lunch so late, we weren't as hungry as we wanted to be!! We walked around beautiful Balboa park first. We were even entertained by a funny street clown/juggler.

We ordered an appetizer and salads first.

The food was really fancy!  Tami, Kari and I all shared this shrimp and filet with seasoned mashed potatoes/gravy. It was yummy!
Lisa had this salmon with some kind of sweet potato?

We told them we were celebrating Tami's #30 birthday and the server brought out this flan dessert for her!

The rest of us shared this yummy and very different baked meringue that had carmeled apples inside with a some sort of cake and ice cream and a fried plantain on top.

Another great day with my girls making some fun memories!

Sunday we had one last walk on the beach, packed up and headed for home!

 FUN WEEKEND!

Water, Water Everywhere!!

March 27th, we rode the RZR up to Milligan to check if any of the run off from the snow was going into the pond!!
IT WAS!!
At the rate the water is flowing in, hopefully the pond will fill all the way and we will still have water in it in July for our big reunion!
We followed the stream up to check the flow.
At this spot half the water was following a different stream that ran down past the barn and on to Harold's pond. We diverted most of it our way since its our water.

LaVerl cleared out lots of debris and limbs and got a much faster stream running.

If there's still plenty of water in the pond, we will stock it
with fish for the family reunion! Lots of fun for all!
Its been years since we've had enough snow in the mountains to get the run off into the pond!  I know Melvin is smiling down on his beloved Milligan!

DAY 3 DISNEY CALIFORNIA ADVETURE!!

Day 3 Disney California Adventure
We switched parks on Wednesday, our last day!

We used our Fast Pass to get on the Increda-Coaster! Wow, what a ride! It was fast and scary, but fun!!  Then we all got on this giant Ferris Wheel!

The kids loved this huge adventure park that had lots of things to climb, slides to go down and lots of running around!
We even saw Chip!

The Guardians of the Galaxy ride was probably the scariest of all! It had a 3 hour wait, but with the fast pass we got on in about 20 min.

We went to a GREAT show in the Hyperion Theatre- FROZEN.
It was spectacular!! The special effects were amazing!!
The girls got to meet Elsa and Anna!
Bret eating on a HUGE turkey leg!
Then we went to Disney Junior Dance Party!
Super fun for the kids!!

We took lots of snack breaks!

We ate dinner at Flo's V8 Cafe

We rode lots more rides, walked and walked all over the park, saw lots of street shows, and finally we were winding down! Our last fast pass was at 9pm to the Radiator Springs Racers! Ivory was too short to go on it, so her and Gpa went to save us a spot for the big light show at 10pm.

What a SUPER FUN time we had!  Thanks Bret for
inviting to us to go with you!

OH-- AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR FIRST BORN SON
MARK ISAAC CROSBY!
He's 41 today!!  How is that possible?
