Adventures with the grandkids!

This has been a busy week for me and Gpa! We've had 4 extra little kiddos at our house and everyday is an adventure. Bret & Becki are in Hawaii enjoying Becki's Christmas gift together.  Here on the home front we've been dealing with a little flu bug that we ALL caught. I was sick first, then LaVerl, then each of the kids. (Its the 'throw-up - diarrhea kind) The baby, Ivory is still dealing with it, but she's a trooper, still smiling and happy most of the time.

She's pretty adorable!

This next adventure was actually kind of funny, at least I thought so. Kingston comes running telling me that "London's arm is caught in the game." I went in the room to see London's arm stuck down the fooz ball hole.  He had tossed a lego guy down the hole and she was reaching in to get it for him. I tried to pull on it, I tried to rearrange her at a better angle, I tried moving it around, nothing seemed to be working. In the meantime, she is crying and carrying on, not thinking it was funny at all.
Finally I go get the dish soap and rub a bunch on to her arm and start pulling again. Nothing! I decide I better pull the drawer out so I can reach her arm from the inside. My arm can barely reach hers, but I manage to rub more soap on hers, then I push up! Success!!
It was a little red, but OK!
Kingston is really good at making things with the legos
They all love their little sister. I did manage to load all four up and take them to the library, the park and the grocery store a few times.

Dempsey showing off her boat?
Ivory has been the sickest, she threw up all over me one
day, but most of the time I go into get her from her nap, or when
I check on her before I go to bed, and she's just laying in her
throw up. Poor little thing, but she's feeling better today.
The weather hasn't been real good for playing outside.
The wind has been howling all week and finally blew in
a little storm. We've had some rain and its been cold.
They were really excited about this sand castle they built.
This is a regular scene. It seems I am always feeding them.

To add to all the fun, yesterday Kingston wanted to earn some money so I told him he could vacuum out their van. Somehow I think he hit some buttons up front, because when he got out and shut the sliding door, everything locked and the keys were inside! Not Kingston's fault, mine, for leaving the keys in the van!
We've had fun most of the time, they've loved gathering the eggs with Gpa, riding the 4-wheeler, playing with all Gma's toys, watching lots of movies (thanks to my kids for my new Roku and to Reed for all the movies he put on it!) We've gotten to know these little people a little better after spending a week with them.

Lake Powell Fishing Trip

Yep, just a week after going to Black River, Dad went on ANOTHER fishing trip with his buddies, Ron Cole and Bob Johnson, to Lake Powell. They left on Thursday morning and picked the boat up at Roosevelt on their way. They put in at Navajo Marina where they had to pay the indians $35 while the guys sat in the boat and let them back it up into the water. The indians unhook it and then go park the truck!
 Bob Johnson and Ron Cole
Its a long ways to launch, so them parking for you is a good deal!

 Setting up camp
 Unloaded and ready for fishing!

 Beautiful lake!
 They caught stripers and crappie.
 Fish for dinner and...
...green chili with eggs. Dad went with two really good cooks.

 Two  nice ones!
 Fishing buddies!

After two days of fishing and catching about 30-40 fish, they load
up and head back.

It was a great 3 days, they didn't catch as many as last year, but still a great time. How can being at Lake Powell not be great??

Black River Fishing Trip!

Pictures say a 1000 words, right? Well here are LOTS of pics to tell about Reed & Ryne's annual fishing trip to the Black River. This year LaVerl went again, along with Mark and Barry. They all had huge packs carrying all their gear, they all had their fishing poles and they were ready for a great time fishing. They caught lots of fish and had a great time.

Mark stuffing everything in his pack.

We all had breakfast burritos at Tami & Ryne's that morning.

Barry's pack was as big as him!
Dad's ready to roll! Walking sticks and all!

 They are ready!

Heading home after 3 days of glorious fishing.
This was Dads favorite picture and I forgot to put it in. He wanted to title it -"best buddies"
