First ever Dawes sibling get-together!!

Well, it finally happened! The Dawes siblings decided to go have some fun together in Tucson last weekend. Sherry couldn't come, but the rest of us did and we had a great time. We got to visit and get to know each other again, we ate lots of food and enjoyed some good entertainment!

First stop was lunch at Denny's, it was right next to the motel we were staying at.

 Then we headed to the movies and saw "McFarland" based on a true story, a great show!

 Curt & Carol! She is walking upright now and will

be back to normal hopefully after one more surgery!

 Then it was on to 'Trail Dust Town' where we 

walked around and saw lots of old western stuff and then

had dinner at the Pinnacle Peak steak house.

 We didn't get to ride the train, maybe next time!

Then on to the Gaslight Theatre to see the show!  Its just fun, clean

enjoyable entertainment. 

I think it was worth the effort we made to spend some time together. Next time we'll do more on Saturday together, but Curt wasn't feeling very well, so we all headed home. It was great to spend time with my siblings!

After 32 years.....

...we finally got new carpet in our bedroom, to go along with the new tile in our bathroom!! Taking apart our bed was a real 'pain'! It had 8 drawers that all had to be cleaned out and fixed, 82 cans of pinto beans stored in the center, and other misc. things under there!

 (Note--broken drawers!!) Dad somehow made all new brackets out of metal, so now they will never break again! He's amazing!

It looks great, smells great and we LOVE it!! I wonder if it will last 32 years??

Trip to El Paso for Milea's baptism-- Feb 28th, 2015

Our #2 grandchild turned 8 years old, so we headed to El Paso, TX for her baptism. It was a great day.

 I made them all 'Super Hero' capes for the Marvel show they are going to in March in Mesa with Bret's kids.

It was a fun, fast weekend. We left at 4am Saturday from Eagar and got to El Paso around 9:30.  After her baptism we all went to eat at Olive Garden. We spent the night, went to church with them on Sunday, then headed home around 2pm. We're so glad they live close enough we can be there for important events!
