Well, life has thrown us a curve-ball that we were totally unexpecting! LaVerl has been down and out for about a month now because of his two falls and ended up in the ER again! This second time, because his hips were hurting him so bad, they did a CT scan and what they found was a mass in his bladder!! That is totally, NOT GOOD! Also, he was retaining urine in his bladder, also NOT GOOD, so they had to put a catheter in. A week later, we finally got in to see a Urologist and he told us, LaVerl needed to be home because he has a long, tough, road ahead of him for treatment. We still haven't got an appointment set up with a urologist at home- we are trying for Mayo Clinic or one in Flagstaff, which ever one we can get him into first! So--we had to cut our mission short and COME HOME!! We had 2 1/2 months left!
It was a SAD DAY of GOOD-BYES!!
Good-bye flowers I helped plant!Good-bye all my geese friends!
Good-bye climbing wall that we help the kids on.
Good-bye to helping the kids put on their harnesses for the zip line!
Good-bye Bro. John Harmer and Bro. Art Cottam
LaVerl did have one last electrical job, which Bro. Harmer had to help him do because he was so weak! They put in a light switch where people could actually find it in the craft barn and ran another separate circuit for the ice maker.
So we are super sad to leave, but feel so blessed to have been able to serve in such a beautiful place and with such wonderful, amazing people that we got to know! Oh how we will miss them!!
