Camp Life!

 Life is good here at Seneca Lake camp. Always lots to do to keep this place looking beautiful.This is the "Farmhouse". People can rent it out.

Even with lots of rain, I still have to water the flowers that we just planted a few weeks ago. 

Last week, we took a 'P-day'. We left at 9:30am and got home after 9:30pm. We drove about an hour to the town of Corning, NY to spend the day in the Corning Museum of Glass. Wow! It was so interesting and so much to see and read about! On the way there, we passed this beautiful waterfall!

This fruit was huge! As big as a table. 

Back to work the next day. Working on the 'beach front'. Hauling boats down and more sand.

The lake get lots of moss in it, gross!!

Getting the huge dump trailer down was easier than getting it back out. We got it stuck on a gate post and couldn't get it off. Had to go get a tractor to pull it off. I was directing traffic around for about 30 min.

Cleaning all the outside windows of 10 cabins. It started to rain on us before we were through. 

LaVerl was back to weed-whacking! The amphitheater was really over grown and now its looking lots better!

Staying Busy at Seneca Lake

The weeks are going by and we are staying busy getting the camp ready for our first groups to arrive. We went to this beautiful Amish nursery and bought over 100 marigolds and other flowers to plant around the camp. We put the marigolds all around in the grow boxes.

LaVerl could stay busy 24/7 weed-eating!

While LaVerl is weed-eating, I'm weeding horseshoe pits, in the rain!

Then, with Sis. Cottam, finding other areas to clean!

We got a 'ding' in our car door, UGGG, and LaVerl tried to fixed it, with Bro. Cottam supervising. 

Our first group to arrive was Palmyra Stake Father and Sons. They had fun on the climbing wall and the zip line. They had a service project down at the water front and most of them were wet and shivering cold!

MOTHER'S DAY!

Sister Cottam invited all the 'Senior Service Missionaries' to her house for dinner! Yummy! The other couple, couldn't come. Just as we were all leaving, a delivery came for me-- Flowers and chocolate, from my sweet, thoughtful children!

Now the star-gazer lily's are blooming! They are so beautiful and smell so good too.

Bro. Zvirzdin, the senior missionaries that will be running the beach front, needed help getting all the canoes, paddle boats and kayaks down to the water front.

While planting flowers last week, there was a birds nest in one of the baskets. I wanted to keep it in the basket, but Sis. Cottam didn't, so I kept it, it was so cool! When I went to water the flowers we'd planted, I saw a Red Robin laying in the basket. When she flew away, I saw the eggs she had laid, right in the dirt, because we had taken her nest! When I watered the dying flower, her eggs were laying in the water! I ran back and got her nest and put the eggs back in. Later, I saw her back laying on them! Happy Day!

This picture is looking from our trailer, down to the lake. You can see the dead grass in rows after we mow. It really bugged me, so I decided to rake them all up. With the help of Sis. Harmer, she was on the grasshopper mower and made fewer rows to pick up.

LaVerl came with the Kabota with its little dumpster and he picked up all the grass and we hauled it to the burn pile. My 'front yard' looks a lot better now!!
