May happenings.....

Lots has been happening that I need to post about!  First, baby Lawson is growing! He is now almost 2 months old, this picture is already outdated. He is adorable, he's a happy, good baby!
Aunt Tami and Aunt Kari came to see him and also to be at Kingston's graduation! It was also the last day of school for Lisa's kids.

Kingston, Bret's oldest, graduated from Higley High School on May 19th. It took place at ASU.

He had 32 bathroom pass lanyards around his neck that he kept all throughout HS instead of turning them back in. Funny boy!

In May we had a very long lost cousin come to St. Johns. I probably haven't seen him in 50 years!! He wanted to see his 'favorite aunt'. He is mom's sister, Violet's son. He came with his son Derrick. They drove a long ways for a short visit. It was so fun to spend time with them. He is still the happy, smiley cousin I remember.

MY YARD!!! It is finally done, new sprinklers added, old ones fixed, tilled up, old dead grass raked off, new top soil and grass planted!
BEFORE!

We FINALLY got some rain which we've been praying for! I loved it, but it put off my lawn for a week because it needed to be dry.
Spreading all the new top soil. The front yard was easier than the back, which they had to wheel barrow all of it in. The front yard they used LaVerl's skid steer to move all the dirt!
They put the stepping stones down in the wrong place, so I had to move them to where I wanted them.

Since I can't grow anything and keep it alive, I decided to plant "fake flowers!" And I just ordered some more!!!

They left piles of top soil, not sure where to put that!
Things around the house that I'm having to fix!
I love our old pull chain toilet, but it's over 40 years old and I'm hoping the plumber can put in a new float and whatever else it might need. It's pretty corroded! We have hard water!!
Also in the same bathroom, my window crank is broken. I had an Anderson window guy come and he quoted me $3845 to replace the window. Ummm, I think I'll try to get replacement parts and try to find someone to fix it!!
I thought a new corner shelf in the shower at my Airbnb would be a simple fix...nope! The corner piece I bought was bigger than the one he took out and the wall is not square.
BEFORE!  (Pretty gross)

It looks SO MUCH better!! All new caulk too!!

Old houses need lots of work, so little by little I'll get everything fixed and working. I can't wait to see green grass growing! Its all just things that keep me busy, which is good.
