Chad's engaged!

A day we really thought would never come, has come! Our son Chad is engaged to Luann Maner, a wonderful lady he met last summer at a special singles activity in Snowflake, AZ. She is a sweetheart, and we are so happy for our Chad. She is teaching 5th grade, but is really a librarian, with a Masters in Library Science.  They actually got engaged in April and the wedding is set for July 13th, in the Snowflake Temple. We will have a reception that evening there, then one at our home in Eagar the following Sat. after they return from their honeymoon!  

May 16-18 Fishing on Black River

 Dad was thrilled to be invited to go with Reed and Ryne on their annual fishing expedition down on the Black River. Reed came from Utah and brought along Sam, his brother-in-law. It was a great trip, they caught lots of fish and had a blast.

Dad actually wanted to write about this trip, but now he is on another fishing trip, this time to Lake Powell to catch strippers. I thought I better get this post done so I can post about that adventure later. 

Reed & Natali graduate! (in April)

LaVerl & I headed up to Utah April 26th, to attend Reed & Natali's graduation ceremonies at BYU. What an accomplishment for both of them! Reed received his Masters Degree in structural engineering and Natali received her Doctorate degree from BYU Law School. She graduated the #1 girl in the class, but didn't receive any recognition at the ceremony for all her hard work!

Reed's graduation took place in the Smith fieldhouse.

We are sure proud of Reed for all his hard work!

Hall, but because of limited seated, we didn't attend.

We had to get a picture of beautiful Mt. Timpanogas in the back ground! Provo was so gorgeous this time of year. The trees all over town were in full bloom of whites and pinks and there were tulips of all colors in all the flower beds.

What's a Crosby blog post without a picture of food! They took us to some of their favorite places to eat and we liked them all.

These were some great, big, yummy stuffed pita's! 

It was a fun trip, we stayed with Aunt Nan & Uncle Denny and they always treat us royally. We did some shopping and ate lots of  good food-how can you beat it?

Late April posts---Dad's been a busy boy!

 Dad has been enjoying some fishing lately. He has a couple of friends that LOVE fishing and they have been wanting to go to Roosevelt to fish, so they did. They left early, stayed out on the boat ALL night and....

....caught two little fish.  They sure had fun though, Bro. Hoopes and Bro. Carpenter are a hoot!

Probably the reason they stayed out all night was because Dad refuses to get 'skunked'!

Dad has also been busy hatching out a bunch of eggs
he got from a guy. He had chicken, pheasant and turkey eggs!
It was pretty exciting!

By the time I took this picture, only the turkey eggs were left.

After 21 days, first the chicks hatched. I think about 14.

Yep, they went right in on my brand new tile!

We got all colors, brown, yellow, speckled, and black chicks. 

On the 24th day, about 19 pheasants hatched out. They were so little, but took longer than the chicks to hatch! The little black one was a little premie chick that the bigger chicks picked on, so we had to put her with these little gals!

The turkeys hatched out while we were in Utah, and they basically look like the chicks, only bigger. We only kept 3 of the chicks, 4 turkeys and 4 pheasants. Dad gave the others away.

Dads next fishing trip was to Big Lake. The day started out nice, but ended up snowing and blowing!

In case anyone is still wondering about Dad's finger--well its better! Its not as swollen, its seems to have localized into one small spot.
