Oregon Trip--- Day 2

Day 2  - Aug 2nd

In Reedsport,  the next morning, we went on a walk in the fog. Our favorite part of our walk is finding blackberries! Our VRBO was really cute, although we were probably only there for 12 hours!

Fresh, ripe blackberries are the BEST!

We first stop was Bolen Island. It didn't feel like we were on an island!

Our next stop was Mary's Lake. There was a trail all the way around the lake. It was beautiful!

It was still foggy, but nice and cool.

We stopped at Umpqua Lighthouse then stopped in North Bend for breakfast. which took 2 hours to get our food! But it was good! There is still a lot of logging going on.

 

We had to drive a little off the main road to get to these next Falls, but it was way worth it! We had some road construction on this little back road that was annoying and that held us up awhile.

We hiked to Silver Falls first. It was amazing even though they said the water was low this time of year.

 

The hike to Golden Falls was longer and more uphill. Tami and Lisa's new motto- "If you see a rock, climb it!"

Silver Falls were smaller, but really a lot higher drop to the bottom, which you can't tell from the picture.

On our drive down the coast to where we were staying in Crescent City, CA we stopped at some beautiful places.

We missed a lot of our planned stops down the coast, because we ran out of time.  This was Rock Beach,? our last stop before our 2 hour drive. We spent a lot of time on this beach just relaxing.

Tami of course had to get in the water!!

We stopped to eat in Brookings and were rushing to get there before they closed at 8pm. While we were eating the server came over to ask if we were drving a car with New Mexico plates and told us that it just got hit in the parking lot!! Luckily an honest man told us his daughter hit our car and was willing to cover all the costs to get it fixed! 

We finally got to our beautiful VRBO, a brand new house, around 10pm. It was a wonderful, fun, exciting day!
