Saturday October 25th, we had some of our kids and grandkids come to juice apples and get a few work projects done for us. Our apples were pretty sad this year. We had lots of apples, but they were all the size of a golf balls and high in the trees. Mark and Kari arrived on Friday night. Mark brought Kaemon, Zallen and Bolden. Kari came with her 4 boys. Bret and Lisa got here Saturday morning about 9:30. Bret brought Kingston, Dempsey, and Ivory and Lisa came by herself. They picked up Chad in Show Low that morning and Mark dropped him off in Show Low that evening, which worked out good for Luann not having to drive him all the way here. Everyone was great help and we got a lot done. First we shook the apples from the trees onto tarps, then we separated out the wormy ones. Then we started juicing them, I think we got about 30 gallons. While the juicing was going on, I had some grandkids filling my garage with wood, then splitting and stacking the wood pile. We went in for lunch and of course had to watch the BYU - Iowa State, we won 41-27. After that little break, we headed to the garden to pick potatoes, but didn't find too many. It was just too wet, Gpa was very disappointed! Then we headed to the big greenhouse and piled up all the junk we pulled out of it this spring and had a huge bon fire! The kids loved that!
