Day 2- Oct 11th Crosby sibling reunion

Saturday was a fun and relaxing day. We slept in, well some of us. LaVerl went down to the jacuzzi for awhile and visited with strangers. We all voted to stay at the resort and enjoy playing games and relaxing together until we had to go into St. George later that afternoon.  

 Arriving at Tuacahn. It's nestled in a beautiful red rock canyon.

 We all went on a back stage tour that was very interesting. The stage is amazing because of its 'water' and 'flying' capabilities. They told us Disney loves them because of all the things they can do there.  

 Look at that backdrop!! This looks like just a regular

pyramid, but it lit up from the inside and displayed all 

kinds of pictures on its walls during the different scenes.

 The sides of the stage are man made and designed 

to fit the natural environment. The theater seats about

2200 with the overflow seats they've put in and they claim

"there's not a bad seat in the house"!

 After the tour we ate at the Pharaoh's Feast Buffet- again- more food, but it was yummy!

 LaVerl and Dave went back to see how they cooked with the dutch ovens and this is what they used. They made dutch oven potatoes and peach cobblers. 

 Mitch and Mindy came and brought the two girls.

The show was great, so very entertaining! I loved it!

I've waited a long time to go and now I want to go 

back!  This gang is pretty fun to hang out with!

Crosby Sibling reunion- Day 1- Oct 10th!

The fun actually started on Thursday evening when all of us started arriving at our different destinations. LaVerl & I and Dave & Mary met up in St. George at Michael & Mindy's beautiful new house to watch the BYU game in their theater room!  (So Cool!) J'net & Bryan and Rick & Paula met in Mesquite at the Casa Blanca Resort where we'd be staying. 

 Starting the day off with a big breakfast on Friday, our first day all together. We had a big day planned, lots to do. We had a family meeting of sorts- J'net wanted to share what she's been working on for the last couple of months!

 We all met in their room, where we relaxed and she gave us her presentation. Rick & Paula were really kicked back!

and all his planning. He went to a lot of work! 

 J'net made these wonderful notebooks for all of us

full of information about Mel & Martha Jo. So much

work and so amazing of her to do all that for us!!

 LaVerl & Shelley. LaVerl is holding some of that wonderful fresh cheese curd we bought in Beaver, UT for everyone to taste! He's also sporting his new BYU hat!

 After the meeting we went down by the pool to enjoy being outside, the weather was so nice, not to hot. We all played some cards before we headed to St. George. Bryan had a room reserved at the Family History Center where he showed us lots of good stuff on doing family research!

After the Family History Center lesson, we went back to Mesquite to enjoy an awesome Seafood Buffet! Wow, what a meal!! The guys wanted to play 'Settlers' and cards, so us girls went to the movies-  we saw two!! It was a fun day!!

Trip to Utah--part 1

Monday morning, Oct. 6th, we left early and headed to Provo, UT with the truck and trailer loaded with Tami and Ryne's remaining things. We could hardly wait to see them and these little guys again. We got a little lost finding their house, but luckily Blake was out in the front yard waving at us. Tami had already gone into work, so we enjoyed a nice evening with the boys.

 The next day we took the boys to some fun places to play.

 Provo is such a pretty place with Mount Timpanogos for its back drop!

 This is the restaurant Tami works at. Its located just off Center Street a couple of miles from their house. They serve really good Italian food there.

Behind their house is a wonderful playground area the boys love to play in.

 We also went to see Nan & Denny, its always great to

visit and spend time with them.

 Just down the road from Tami is Provo Fitness Center and they have this great place for kids to play, so we spent a few hours there.

This little 'lazy river' had quite a swift current pushing them around. The boys just loved this. The whole place is amazing!

We were sad to leave them, but we know Ryne is doing the right thing going back to college and he's loving it! Now is the time for them to do this, while they are young! We were in Provo for 3 days, then on Thursday, we headed to St. George to meet up with all LaVerl's siblings for some more good times. 

Fall Harvest & Conference Weekend in Pinetop

We are enjoying a wonderful Harvest thanks to Dad's hard work in the garden. He planted lots of squash and pumpkins, zucchini, cucumbers and corn outside, not in the greenhouse. 

 A couple of the big banana squash are about 2 feet long!

 Now I have to figure out how to cook them!!

For Conference weekend, Lisa & Barry invited us to go to Pinetop and spend the weekend with them and to help finish up a few projects. Lisa and I painted the stair way and steps, and Dad helped Barry with some hot water heater problems. Bret, Becki and kids came and Chad and Luann. We enjoyed spending some time together!

 Then we celebrated Ivory's #1 birthday on Oct. 4th. Becki spent hours making yummy whippy cakes for us.

 This corroded rod in their hot water heater caused some really smelly and yukky water!
