A late Valentine's post

What a lucky girl I am! Most people get flowers, (which I did, from Reed), or chocolate, (which I couldn't have because I'm on a diet), but I got something even better. I have the sweetest, bestest, husband ever!!

 I just had to show this cutest picture of two of

my grandkids. Tami was the only one to share

her Valentine pictures, so that's all I have!

 So here's Dad after he's torn out all the carpet in our master

bathroom after 32 years!! I know, GROSS! 

 We finally decided it was time!! Dad worked hard getting

all the tack strip off and all the staples out of the wood.

 We layed it out just to get a sneak peek of what is was

going to look like! 

 Then, surprise!! I got a 'singing Valentine' and flowers delivered to my door. I was embarrassed because I had just gotten out of the shower and had NO makeup on. But they were sweet and didn't seem to care as they sang to me. 

 While talking to Reed one day I told him that Dad wasn't getting me flowers, that instead I was getting new tile in my bathroom! He decided that I needed flowers too! They were beautiful and I have enjoyed them, thank you Reed!

 So the next step was putting down hardy-backer. This stuff is like putting down concert to make sure the floor doesn't move!

 Dad & I were going to lay the tile, we did do our utility

room, but with the curve of the tub, we decided to have

it laid professionally!

 So glad we did, those cuts were pretty tricky!

 The mess in our bedroom was well worth it!

My finished Valentine's gift!  Pretty awesome! I have ordered

some bathroom rugs as we are not used to the cold on our

feet!! This next week, we are replacing our 32 year old carpet in our bedroom. Moving out all our BIG furniture is going to be fun!

February is going fast!

We finally got around to hauling an oak table with 4 chairs to Sanders for Chad & Luann. Someone gave it to Dad and they needed a table at their little place in Sanders. Its been sitting on a trailer in our driveway for months, so it was time. It was also time we visited them and saw their place. They live in a nice little single wide trailer in the housing provided by the school district there in Sanders. 

 The top is a little rough, but not a bad table, it also has

another big leaf to extend it bigger.

 They've been eating off a card table, so they are happy with it!

 This is the really nice school where Luann is the librarian there. Chad works over at the elementary school where he helps the kids on the handicapped school bus. They live in Sanders during the week and come home to Snowflake on the weekends.

 I've been making 'Super hero' capes for my grandkids.

Bret's and Mark's kids are going to a 'Marvel' show in

March, so I thought it would be fun for them all to have

some capes and masks to wear!! 

Mark, Holly & kids come see us!

Last weekend we enjoyed having some grandkids come see us! Well they said they were coming to see us, but I think the main reason they wanted to come was for the gum balls! We had such fun, when they got here on Saturday, we loaded up and headed to

Big Lake to go ice fishing! Grampa was just sure we would catch some fish. 

 I rummaged through all the old snow clothes I've

saved from when my kids were small and found a few

things the kids could wear.

 Zallen couldn't hardly walk it was so deep.

 Gpa was very disappointed that the grandkids

didn't get to catch a fish!

 On Monday we went up to the old ski run and had

the place to ourselves! Milea was a little scared at 

first, but got braver the more she went.

 Kaemon went down pretty fast on this little sled.

 Bolden loved the 'ATV sled' 

 Zallen collected lots of broken sled pieces

 They had lots of races down the hills 

 Every time the sleds went down, Mark would walk

down and haul them and the kids back up! He got a lot

of exercise!

Wembley's just as cute as she can be! She's 3 months old already!

On their 51/2 hour drive here, Mark and the kids wrote 

a poem about Grampy's gum ball machine. We thought

it was pretty special and will hang it on the wall above the gum ball machine!

Late January Posts

It's almost the end of January and I haven't posted about a few events. We went to Mesa on the 17th because Aunt Glenna was having a family get-together and wanted us to come. We all met at the Gilbert temple for a 7am session and then we all went to Country Buffet for breakfast. It was so fun to see Gary and Jason, it's been awhile.  Lisa and Barry came too.

 On the 1st of January, we took Tami back to Mesa to catch her flight home and we stopped in to visit with Nanna & Pomp.

 Then to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary on January 21st, we all met at Red Lobster for a great meal!!

 Of course, Dad's been doing a little fishing!

MY New Years One Little Word- O L W !

  Here it is Jan 8th, and I haven't yet posted about what my 

"O L W" - "one little word" will be for 2015!! In fact, I don't think I even picked one for 2014. Two years ago my word was "Aware" and I guess I needed lots of time to work on it! I hope this year that the word I picked will help change my behavior in all the areas in my life that I'm striving to be better at. The word for 2015 is:

                                   "Remember"

                                                   remember re·mem·ber (rĭ-měm'bər)

                                                     v. re·mem·bered , re·mem·ber·ing ,                                 

                                                    To recall to the mind; think of again.                                       

                                                            To retain in the memory.

                      The categories I want to focus on are:

1. Christ-- I want to remember each day to have my prayers, to do my scripture reading- not just read them, but ponder and study them. I want to think constantly- "what would Jesus do, or how    would Jesus act".

2. Family--I need to remember family better, to call them more often, to pray for them, to help in any way I can. 

3. Health-- I really hope to remember to be better in choosing the foods I eat, to do my exercises daily, to drink LOTS of water and to read self-improvement books. 

4. Friends-- I want to remember to call my friends often, to make time for them, to do nice things for them and try to make new a few new ones.

5- Service--  This is a one I really want to do better at this year. I want to remember DAILY to do something for someone. 

"Remember" is such an important word, its used 100+ times in the Book of Mormon!

Wembley Crosby's Blessing!

We made a fast trip to El Paso, TX for the baby blessing of our #13 Grand child, Wembley. She was given a beautiful blessing today by her Dad, Mark. We got there yesterday in time for the BYU/Gonzaga basketball game, (which they lost!). We also brought three big tubs full of Marks missionary stuff and his other 'jewels' from home that he wanted to go through.

 Holly's Mom & Dad and her sister Kellie and husband, David have been there since Christmas Eve.

 Dad's sleeping I think. The clock in our hotel room was 2 hours off and we didn't know it and I got up at 5:37am and Dad at 6:02am before we realized it!!

 Wembley was fussing before the blessing and I thought

she was going to wail all through it, but she quieted right

down and we didn't hear a peep from her!  Good baby girl!

I gave Kaemon a little haircut last night. He's our

oldest grandchild.

It was a quick trip, but we're so glad they are only 5 hours away, so we can just jump in the car and go!! Its an easy flat trip with only about 2 turns. The "Very Large Array" is about the only interesting thing along the way!!
