Uncle Denny

Its been a very sad few weeks. Last Dec. 25th, Christmas Day, Uncle Denny went into the hospital and found out that he needed a triple by-pass and that he had aggressive leukemia, a deadly combination. For awhile things looked good, the chemo treatments and the blood transfusions were working, but then he got RSV, and in his weakened condition, on March 21, 2015, while at home with his family all around him, he quietly passed. We will all miss him!

 We drove up to Utah on Wednesday, picking Chad up in Sanders along the way. We attended the viewing later that evening.

 Thursday morning Lisa & Barry and Bret flew in. We all

went to the viewing before the funeral.

 LaVerl and Lynn Hatch were both asked by Uncle Denny to speak at his funeral.

Lots of their Nauvoo missionary friends came and then sang a

final song for Nan.

 Markee Davis Stoner took tons of pictures for Nan.

 

Their Ward put on a wonderful luncheon afterwards where we all got to mingle and visit for awhile longer.

I was lucky enough to get to spend a week with Aunt Nan after the funeral. She is the sweetest, most wonderful lady I know!

First ever Dawes sibling get-together!!

Well, it finally happened! The Dawes siblings decided to go have some fun together in Tucson last weekend. Sherry couldn't come, but the rest of us did and we had a great time. We got to visit and get to know each other again, we ate lots of food and enjoyed some good entertainment!

First stop was lunch at Denny's, it was right next to the motel we were staying at.

 Then we headed to the movies and saw "McFarland" based on a true story, a great show!

 Curt & Carol! She is walking upright now and will

be back to normal hopefully after one more surgery!

 Then it was on to 'Trail Dust Town' where we 

walked around and saw lots of old western stuff and then

had dinner at the Pinnacle Peak steak house.

 We didn't get to ride the train, maybe next time!

Then on to the Gaslight Theatre to see the show!  Its just fun, clean

enjoyable entertainment. 

I think it was worth the effort we made to spend some time together. Next time we'll do more on Saturday together, but Curt wasn't feeling very well, so we all headed home. It was great to spend time with my siblings!
