More Adventures on Girls Trip!

 Aug. 5th,  Day-4

 We started the day early to hike to the end of Cape Lookout. Its about a 5 miles hike through beautiful, lush greenery everywhere. We were lucky because the fog wasn't too bad. We started out about 8am and there was only 1 car in the parking lot.

The trail started out good, but about half way it got really muddy, so we didn't go much further.

 

We had to check out at 11am and say goodbye to our cute little beach house!

 Then we headed back down the coast to do a few things we missed. Our first stop was Munson Creek Falls. Its a short hike to an amazing waterfall.

 

After the Falls we started driving to Newport. Along the way we found a really good ice cream shop where they make their own ice cream. She even pointed out the cows in the pasture that gave the milk!
Once we got to Newport, we went to the bike rental place. We rode on the beach for 2 hours, in the fog some of the time, but it was really fun.

For Lisa's birthday I gave her some pretty little bracelets, but I thought it was only fair to get Kari and Tami some too. One of them was called 'beachwood', which I thought  was a fun memento of our trip together. 

Then we headed back to Eugene where we had a flight to catch back to Arizona the next morning. That evening we found a nice restaurant to eat at for Lisa's birthday. LaVerl had told us that he was buying, but we didn't get ready in time to find a super nice restaurant, but we found a great Mexican place within walking distance from the Hyatt where we were staying.

After dinner they brought Lisa a plate full of fried sopapillas with chocolate sauce and whipping cream and they sang Happy Birthday in Spanish!

 

This little saying really sums up our whole trip. We loved seeing the Oregon coast, but the best part was spending time together!

Girls Trip- Going North of Tillamook

 Aug. 4, Day-3

Today we decided to head north of Tillamook. 

 First we picked a bunch of blackberries that were growing right down on the road next to our beach house. Its just so fun to pick them when they are just growing wild everywhere. 

Our first stop was Neahkahnie Mtn. hike, a 1.3 mile uphill all the way!

 

But the view from on top was way worth it!!

After our hike we stopped at Hug Point. We didn't go down to the beach, just hugged!

 Next stop was Cannon Beach to see Haystack Rock, more commonly known as "Goonies Rock".

It was a little cold and windy and foggy!

Cannon Beach is a really cute little town, but it had tons of people everywhere. All the places to eat were so crowded that we ate a little crepe shop, but it was uniquely yummy! While walking back to the car we found Dawes Street!

After Cannon Beach we drove back down the coast to Tillamook. Its a beautiful drive passing through Manzanita, Nehalem, Rockaway, and then passing through Garibaldi where we all worked at the lumber mill. It brought back lots of memories, but is now completely gone. 

We decided we had time to go back to the beach house and get our swimsuits and head up Trask River. My old swimming hole looks exactly the same, still beautiful. We all got in and swam, but the water was definitely COLD! Tami and Lisa jumped off the really high rock, which was brave of them!

After swimming awhile, we headed back into Tillamook to our favorite taco stand and got some dinner.  We had some time to just relax at the beach house. The girls did face masks and we all just talked. It was another really fun day on the Oregon Coast and great spending it with my girls!
