SEDONA!!

It's hard to believe that we have lived in Arizona for 40 years and we've never been to Sedona! It's beautiful! LaVerl had a few days off from work and he wanted to go do something, so I picked out Sedona! The weather is nice and cool and because we are here Wed-Fri, hopefully the trails and places to see won't be packed with people!

Our first stop was Slide Rock State Park. It was a good thing we didn't want to swim, because it was much to cool for that! But it sure looked inviting!!

The red rock was so amazing!

Oak Creek is beautiful!

There were still a few golden leaves left on the trees!

We stopped in Flagstaff to see Kari and kids for a few minutes on our way. We ate some really good Mexican food and then we settled in our nice hotel. Tomorrow will be seeing more of God's creations!

Baby Gabe's appendix rupture!! Scary stuff!

Its a scary thing when a tiny baby boy, only 18 months old, is so very sick and you don't know what's wrong with him. He can't talk to tell you, he won't eat or drink anything, and he won't even hardly move! That's is what was happening to our little grandson Gabe!

When he left my house on Thursday, he was already not feeling good that morning, I could tell because he would hardly eat anything and he's a really good eater! Kirk picked him up in Holbrook and by Saturday they could tell something was wrong. Sunday he wouldn't move off Kari's chest! Monday morning they took him to the ER.

The hospital ran every test imaginable trying to figure out what was wrong with this little guy. Finally a CT scan showed that his appendix was very enlarged and had ruptured, very rare in a baby!

He had a great surgeon and everything went well. By day 3 after surgery, he was feeling so much better!

Lots of prayers were given and we feel so blessed that Gabe is going to be well and back to his happy, adorable little self!

He was happy to get all the needles out and to be able to eat again!

Going home at last!!!

His brothers are sure happy he's home!

Oct 23rd-28th Baby Gabe and SNOW!!.....and Halloween!

Last week while Kari was at a vacation resort in Mexico with Elijah to celebrate his 8th birthday, I got to keep baby Gabey with me. We got to be close buddies, I got lots of snuggles and kisses! So did Gpa! He is a sweet little boy, who is 18 months old, but doesn't walk or even talk much, but so much fun!

Gpa got a big load of wood delivered!

Yogurt is his favorite! He feeds himself, but is super messy! He learned a few new words while he was here too. Peek-a-boo, bye-bye, hello, and cuckoo. (from our cuckoo clock)

He stands all by himself, but refuses to try to walk, he will just plop himself down if I try to get him to move his feet!

He sat with Gpa and watched the BYU game!

Then on Monday Oct 26th, we got our first snow, about 3 inches! On Tuesday we got about 7 more inches! 10 total! It was beautiful and we needed it really bad!!

It looked like Winter wonderland!

The ruler showed 9 1/2 inches, but it was a heavy, wet snow and had already melted some!

The trees still had a lot of leaves still on them, so we had a few broken branches!

I got to keep Gabe a few days longer because hurricane Zeta hit down in Mexico and Kari's flight home was delayed so she missed her connecting flight in North Carolina and had to spend the night! I didn't mind, this is one cute, sweet, good little boy! I met Kirk in Holbrook on the 29th and it was sad to say Good-bye!
