Enjoying our P-day!

 About every 3 weeks, we get a real whole day off. This week we decided to go to the temple for an endowment session and then visit some of the church historical sites. 

This is an 'original' painting!

E.B Grandin was only 21 years old when he established his print shop. It had a new, top of the line printing press, the best around for miles.

They would print books without hard covers for people to read, and then if they liked them, they would put a cover on it for them.

So we 'happened' to be in the Grandin Print shop at the exact time and place that Chris and Jerrae Wilson, from home, were there too!! What are the odds?? We invited them out to the camp so they could zip line, do the challenge course and the climbing wall. I think they had fun!

We ate lunch at the 'Chill & Grill'. Yummy ice cream too. Then we went to the Hill Cumorah Visitors center.

It was a rainy, nice cool day. And a fun day off!

Seneca Lake Youth Camp

A robin decided to build a nest in one of our flower baskets. We thought it was an old nest when we planted, so we took it out. I kept the nest because it was just 'so cool'. So much work, it was perfect. I went back to water the flowers and there was the bird, laying in the dirt beside the flower, in the exact spot where her nest had been. When she flew off, I saw 4 perfect, blue, speckled robin eggs and when I watered the flower, they were laying in the water!! I went back to my trailer and got the nest I had saved, put the eggs back in, to keep them out of the water, hoping the mommy robin would come back and keep them warm. And, she did!

3 of the eggs hatched.

They were really ugly, but got cuter with feathers!

They have now left the nest. It took maybe 3 weeks!

The garden is also growing fast! We are now picking peas and little beets and beet greens.

The geese are growing fast too.

We had a storm come through that brought up lots of moss to the shore! The elder missionaries came to help us pitch fork it out and then we hauled off loads of it!!

Working around the camp includes, cutting down fallen trees.

Now I need to paint the boards.

Taking wood to all the fire pits, along with a shovel and bucket.

The camp rented a 'stump grinder'. We have lots of stumps and they are hard to mow around for the big mower.

The FLOWERS around camp! I missed the irises!!

Sister Harmer bought us flowers to brighten our home!!

The 'cotton' was so thick from the Cottonwood trees, it looked like SNOW!
