Dad's latest project

LaVerl has been a busy boy! We decided that we really love our grandchildren and don't want them falling off the patio at Roosevelt, so LaVerl has been building a fence to put up. He made it all himself out of 2x4's and re bar. The first 2 sections he built at Roosevelt and put them up. The next sections he made in his shop at home and he hauled them there and put them up! He had to dig the holes and pour in some concert for the posts, wait a day for that to dry, then he set the sections of fence in the brackets. More was involved, but LOTS OF WORK! Here's putting the fence together! He had to pre-drill all the holes, then put the re bar in to both the top and bottom piece. This is after he cut and painted all the re bar!

Here's LaVerl at Roosevelt, varnishing and sealing the wood. Doesn't it look nice? He worked hard in that heat, but he sure enjoys his little projects!

Look out! I'm now a licensed physician!

So my medical license came in the mail this week, making me a licensed physician, in the state of.....Wisconsin. Why Wisconsin you say? Because since I'm a federal employee, they don't care which state I'm licensed in and Wisconsin is one of the easiest and cheapest to apply for.

4th of July in Eagar!!

As most of you know, the 4th of July Parade is a pretty big deal in Eagar, people start saving their spot to sit about a week in advance. The main street in lined with chairs and pickup trucks, trailers, etc to save a spot to sit and watch the big event. It just tells you that not much exciting happens in Eagar! Somehow Uncle Rick managed to get all of us a great spot right in front of the old Rock Eagar Post Office! This spot wasn't reserved for some reason!

Good ol' Uncle Rick! Him and Paula were camping up at Milligan and they had a few of their kids come for a little family reunion. They invited us up one night to eat Navajo Tacos with them! Yummy! Paula is amazing!!

Marcie had her little family all decked out in red, white and blue. Phillip and Isaac had a blast running for all the candy that was thrown! I still miss the water balloons that used to go flying off the floats and the fire trucks spewing water on everyone!

The parade had its usual horses, wagons, tractors, floats and cowboys!

We thought this little barrel train was really cute! I told LaVerl to start finding some barrels so we could make one for the grand kids!! It was being pulled with a 4-wheeler!

They saved the 'best for last' as this was about the last thing in the parade. This Statue of Liberty was absolutely beautiful and was so tall it wouldn't go under the wires at the main intersection. We watched as they had to bend her to get her under the wires.

Then to our horror, we watched as she started to crumple and fall backwards! I thought it was because they had bent her getting under the wires.

I felt so sad to see her fallen over, I clapped and cried as she went by, thinking how sad that others wouldn't see her standing so tall and beautiful and proud as she went by. Then as we watched, she slowing started raising back up to her full height, standing proud once again! We were profoundly affected as we noted the symbolism I'm sure the builder wanted us to recognize.

More 4th of July pictures....

We were looking for something to do, so for the first time in 25 years while living in Eagar, we went to Sunrise Ski Resort and rode the lift up to the top of the ski run. It was beautiful weather in Eagar, but when we got up to Sunrise, it was raining! We got some lovely green trash bags to keep us dry, and up we went! J'net & I both had on flip flops!

We had heard the cost was $3 a person, but when we got there they told us it was $10 a person. We debated, but decided to go, afterall, you only live once! To get our monies worth, we rode it twice! The second time, it wasn't raining and the scenery was well worth the money.

J'net bribed the indian lady working on top with some really good kettle corn they'd bought for 2 trash bags. What a deal!

Oh yes, we looked lovely, but they really did help keep us warm and dry! What a fun day we had! There were people from Romania there and they were so impressed with the beauty of the White Mountains!

Lisa & Barry's Reception in Eagar!

JUNE 27TH, 2009 YES, I'M LATE POSTING Lisa and Barry had a beautiful reception in Eagar, everything was decorated really cute, the weather was perfect, the Mexican food was good, we just needed a few more people to show up!! We missed having all the family members come!!

It looked the best after it got dark, we had candles lit on all the tables, the video showed up better, and the overhead lights looked really good.

We sat up tables and chairs for 50 people!

It was a lovely reception, we all had a great time!

My Talented Girlfriend!

Natali's sister Dana got married in June and Natali is an incredible photographer. She has been doing it since high school and now works for the Daily Universe taking pictures for them (that's the BYU newspaper for those who don't know). So she took Dana's engagement pics and here are a few of the stunning bridals that she took and edited. She is amazing as you can tell. So I just wanted to show everyone one of her outstanding talents. Ya I'm a pretty lucky guy to be with such a talented, great, fun, pretty girl!

When Natali's mom was showing these to other people everyone was asking her how much they paid for such beautiful pictures. They were shocked to find out that she didn't pay anything for them. So I think that between my modeling and Natali's photography we will always be able to make some really good side money.

Kaemon's First Day of Preschool. He packed his little snack lunch last night. He got up early this morning and got dressed and ate all his breakfast without prodding and then went to preschool for 3 hours. He loved it! He said he made some new friends and played on the playground. Milea wanted to go too, but we're basically black-mailing her and telling her that "little girls who aren't potty-trained can't go to school" (which is true).

My life

Well Hello everybody. I am just giving another update on my life. Things have changed a little bit. I am now in Springfield Missouri. I am waiting here until the gathering of the Saints... or until the end of the summer, whichever comes first.

So here I am in my studly Dish/Direct TV outfit. I felt better about selling Dish than doing the security thing.

This is how I spend a lot of my time now that I am far away from Natali. Mom added her to our friends and family list so that I can talk to her for as long as I want :).

As far as work goes, as I said I'm liking it a lot better here. On Friday I sold 4 satellites in one day!! That's as many as I got during my best week of selling security. I tend to get in more houses out here in Missouri. Even if people don't necessarily want satellite they still often invite me in for a drink or something. The economy is also better out here in Missouri so I haven't run into any problems with people not qualifying. My boss, Tosh Makintosh (yes that's his real name), is a really great guy and I get personal phone calls from the owner of the company checking on me. I feel really welcomed.

There was an old picnic table in the backyard of the house we are staying  so we decided it would be fun to fix it up. Ryne did most of the work by sanding it all down and I helped paint on the stain. It was fun! And its nice to eat outside in the sunshine!

Our New Backyard Pool!

The kids love their 2-section pool with slide (from Costco...of course). But it's been cloudy the last couple days. We're looking forward to some sun this week. Holly's due date is in 9 days!
