SPRING BREAK!!

 Spring Break means getting to see our kids and grandkids. First, Tami, Ryne and their 3 kids came. They have a house here that they've been renting out since they left to go back to school, then medical school. They had such a hassle getting their renters out and their place was pretty trashed and they left both back and front porches full of their stuff that we had to haul off!! We spent the first couple of days doing lots of cleaning, tearing out carpet and pad and filling holes.

On Saturday, it was Colter's baptism. It was so nice they could have it here because this is where most of Ryne's family is and it meant we didn't have to drive up to St. George!

Kari and her boys came Friday, they followed us home from Mesa. Tami and I drove to Mesa Friday morning to attend an "angel-versary" that Bret was having for his kids to remember their Mom, Becki who died last year on March 13th.

Aunt Lisa and Colter. Lisa and her kids came Saturday and got here a couple of hours before the baptism. She had bad, snowy, foggy conditions on the roads trying to get home, but she made it.

Ryne baptized Colter at the Eagar Stake Center. His dad, Shawn is the Bishop of the Ramsey Park Ward.

Tami's family all left on Sunday and Kari's boys were really sad!

We had one day of nice weather and then we had COLD and snow the next day!

 

The kids were all getting ready to go play in the snow and this is what Landon put on! Just a hat and gloves!  It was pretty funny!

Kari made St. Patricks Day really fun for the kids. She had 'Lucky Charms' on the table when they woke up and on the back of the box was a card with the first clue on it that led to another clue, then another that finally led to a treasure--a box of lucky charms marshmellow treats.  The kids loved it.

Kari left on Wednesday and Lisa left Thursday morning. It was wild and crazy with a houseful of noise/mess makers, but so fun having them all home!

A Few more February activites!

 For February being such a short month, we managed to get a few more things in. After the kids left Sunday afternoon I had to get all packed up to head to Mesa to watch Lisa's kids for the day. She got invited to a really special friends birthday celebration and really wanted to go. I had my audiology hearing appointment in Show Low at 1:00pm on Monday, so I just continued on to Mesa afterwards and got there about 6:30pm. I watched Landon and Lucy until after 3 when she got home. She had fun and really needed a break. 

 Landon and Lucy both had fun at the park close by. We had a little picnic lunch.

 

 

I then drove back home Tuesday evening, and Wed. morning LaVerl and I left again! He had a load of Big batteries to take to the recycling place, about 2800 lbs!!! They paid him 20 cents a pound, so he came out good! Going down Main Street we had to stop for the 3 deer crossing the road!

 

After dropping off the batteries, we headed to Yuma, we both had dentists appointments Thursday morning at 9am in Los Algadonas, Mexico. 

After our appointments, (LaVerl had to have a root canal and a crown and I just needed a crown), while our mouths were still numb, we went to El Charro for some great Mexican food. Yummy!!

Yuma has grown so much in the 50 years since LaVerl left, he hardly knew his way around anymore. He did find the house he grew up in!

Going back to the dentist the next day was fast and painless. She just put on our crowns and we were done. We were on our way home by 11am.  We thought it would be fun to stop and see Barry's Recycling plant that is located out by Dateland. He has quite the operation out there, lots of BIG equipment and lots of money invested! 

He told us that they were working on some equipment that was down so it really wasn't set up and working like it usually is.

Just recently they drilled a well that runs off of this big generator and pumps water into a huge pond they also had to dig.

This area is filled with water and somehow separates the salt out.

I didn't even get all the buildings, but Barry and two other partners have put so much time and money into this new adventure and we sure hope and pray that it will pay off for them. Barry has a 2 1/2 hour drive one way when he goes to work here usually after he has already worked his other job!!

A FULL HOUSE!

 I'm so glad that my kids like to come home! This week Lisa and family came on Thursday and then Mark and his family came later Friday night! I had a Full House! Lisa's little girls got invited to an After Valentine's Tea Party that Barry's older nieces were hosting in Show Low on Saturday, so it only made sense to come home when they were so close. Mark's family wanted to come snowboarding at Sunrise because we recently got some good snow! They almost didn't get to go because Sunrise was sold out of tickets, but then they were told they always save a few back. When they got up there was a long line they waited in and by their turn there were only 7 tickets left and they needed 4.  They were lucky!!

It was so COLD after it snowed that the snow hadn't melted much. The kids played all day out in it.

Later that afternoon Gpa had to fill the garage with wood, so the kids got a ride in his skidster!

On Saturday morning the girls got all dress up to go to the Valentine Tea Party. Wembley was excited she got invited to join the fun.

Barry's nieces put on a great party! Lots of good food and fun prizes!

They brought home the BIGGEST box of chocolates I ever saw!

Later that night we all sampled some! Yummy!

Sunday was church at home. Reed told us that he was talking in his church and it was being broadcast via youtube, so we got it on our phones then smartcast it on our big screen TV.  Way cool. Reed was our speaker for our Sacrament meeting!

You can see how happy Bolden was about church. Later I made a nice dinner - ribs, yummy potatoes, asparagus, broccoli and rolls before they all had to head home. It was good to have them all!
